Project Summary

NLS’s overall objective is to equip local, regional and national authorities with the capacities to better react to youth skilled migration in the nature protected areas by creating adequate tools relying on better evidence and by understanding the underlying causes. NLS will capacitate institutions/schools to trace local and transnational impacts and root causes of youth skilled migration and manage its effects on the future development of human capital, labor market processes and demographic tendencies, especially in nature protected areas. By doing so, the project intends to support achieving a better governed nature protected areas. On the local level the activities of NLS will serve the complex capacity building of 5 project partners and their approximately 120 stakeholders. Carrying out complex capacity building of Youth by improving institutional capacities of statistical offices and municipalities will identify and measure the underused human capital of young skilled emigrants, formulate interventions, strategies and policies to unlock development potentials and to change the pedagogical approach to teaching about the human activities in nature conservation areas. The project fosters transnational cooperation in order to facilitate the exchange of statistical data, good policy practices and field experience, by creating a transferable framework for efficient and institutionalized transnational cooperation. Through different activities, the project will address skilled youth emigrants from weak economic backgrounds. Activities in the project include educational and training activities, filed and research work, two youth mobilities, one preparatory meeting and final evaluation meeting. All Project outputs will be openly accessible, inviting other initiatives to capitalize on them. Events, meetings, trainings, round tables, discussions and stakeholder meetings/youth exchange will be open and free for public and the results will be properly shared. As it was already mentioned, products that will be incurred in the project for the practicing purposes, e.g. documentary film materials, study materials, surveys, statistical data, indicators, pilot project, case studies, educational material, training material etc., will be available for free use during the time of the project and later. The main outputs of the project will be the Local action plans and strategies for better service of youth skill emigration in nature protected areas, the set of international testing Indicators and alternatives of pedagogical approaches (schemes) to cover the youth emigration processes in nature protected region.
