Project Summary

The general objective of METVET is to tackle the existing skills gap in training for Aluminium & Metal Constructions technicians, by creating a demand driven training in order to meet the growing demand for new skills of Aluminium & Metal Constructions technicians in the current construction industry. This is being realized through the development of a detailed professional (qualification) profile, the designing of a core curriculum targeted for level 5 (EQF) and the corresponding VET program, including innovative teaching methods. Briefly, the following results have been achieved so far. WP1: Project Management. Necessary actions to enable the smooth operation of METVET have been undertaken. WP2: Definition of joint skills demands-Need analysis. The list of existing skills has been released. A questionnaire regarding the green skill needs has been prepared and mutually agreed by all partners to proceed to the survey. The adequate number of questionnaires has been collected from Greece, Germany and Italy. Results have been presented during the first thematic workshop in Germany. WP3: Creation Profile. This cornerstone Deliverable is still in progress. After gathering the methodologies followed in Greece Germany and Italy, in order to develop a new Professional Profile, a joint methodology was discussed and decided. WP4: Creation of Curriculum and Syllabus, Qualification standard, evaluation and certification. The curriculum for Aluminium & Metal constructions technicians is currently in progress, based on the results provided from WP2 and WP3. WP5: Dissemination and awareness raising. A dissemination strategy has been designed and currently followed. A dissemination report covering all pertaining actions has been issued. A stakeholder’s data base has been created. WP6: The Memorandum of Understanding and the Learning Agreements are now being prepared. WP7: External Evaluation; Quality Management and Sustainability. The external evaluation plan is currently operational and the corresponding report has been delivered.
