Project Summary

We organized 3 workshops in 3 counties; different students of each country took part. During the workshops the students learned about: (besides working together in mixed/international groups and other 21th century skills)
1- tolerance and respect; to other and different cultures in Europe, and by visiting concentration camp (Czech Republic, refugee camp Cyprus and Asylumseekercenter in the Netherlands)
2- modern and activating education in stead of traditionalways of education; the students have to play a larger role in their proces of learning, especially by doing themselves. Working together, problemsolving tasks and use modern skills make them more motivated to learn. During the workshops they experienced with building a solar car, made a film/app about tolerance and learned to act independly (in case of less money) by making their own jewelry/clothes and furniture. (to provide social exclusion)
3- Besides the students learned about sustainebility; use of solarenergy, re-use of products.
All these aims of our project will made an aware youth that knows how to work together and sees the importance of being respectfull to others. The role of activating education will make them better prepared to the new life in Europe, together with other 21th century skills (working together, use modern media/computer, problemsolving education). During the workshops they took part in surveys about the motivation in education; fortunately the number of students that was interested in activating education grow, in all countries.
The 4th workshop (avoiding drop-outs and long life learning) was cancelled due to Covid 19.
Parts of the different projects are re-used in school (in projects and in cuuriculum) so we are able to disseminate the goals of our project; respect, promoting activating education, sustainability and be independent and know how to survive with less money.
