Project Summary
N.A.T.A. is a cross-curricular project mainly involving ICT, arts, history and foreign languages aiming at revisiting educational practices in all participating schools ( Greenland-France- Greece) , emphasizing on the acquisition of 21st century skills.
More specifically, the present project is about teaching young generation how to learn in the digital era and how to develop skills and attitudes necessary for their personal fulfillment and development, active citizenship, and social inclusion.
Its practical outcome comprises creation of three issues of a digital newspaper using Google Tools, conceived and developed by students. The topics covered in these issues are relevant to students’ everyday life and various aspects of their school life : https://sites.google.com/view/nata2018/home.
This European partnership enabled our students to be more fully aware of the need to be digitally active while learning or being trained how to learn. It also created enriching opportunities for them to collaborate, to get to know the different cultures, to widen their horizons and to acquire social and communication skills. It provided them with excellent opportunity to discover and manage new digital tools, the knowledge that they will be actively using in their further academic careers.
The project was embedded in the school curricula and was successfully combined with all subjects involved. It gave the pupils a chance to discover new European dimensions and give them a better understanding of other cultures which is guaranteed by the fact that participating schools come from different parts of Europe with different education systems and school conditions.
E-twinning was a useful tool in the implementation of our project and using this platform allowed us to create a wider network of schools involved as a follow up.
