Project Summary

North Wicklow Educate Together, Bray and IES María Pacheco, Toldeo are taking part in the Erasmus+ KA229 School Exchange Partnership. Our main goals are to give our students the opportunity to have an immersive cultural and linguistic experience in their Target Language. We want them to become more confident speakers in their TL as well as giving them the opportunity to gain real life experience of daily life and culture in their TL country. We want to promote a greater sense of being European and celebrate both commonality and diversity between both schools and countries.
We aim to conduct the exchange with 20 students from each school staying with host families in Spain and Ireland. Visiting students will attend host school and participate in classes and sporting activities. They will also enjoy cultural activities and excursions with their peers.
Expected results include: an overall improvement in willingness to speak in TL, improved pronunciation, new vocabulary, awareness and appreciation of cultural similarities and differences, an understanding and appreciation of local and national customs, traditions & culture, history and geography.
Both schools would like to strengthen ties enabling us to coordinate projects and plan for future cooperation. Two main goals would be to establish eTwinning projects and coordinate conversation opportunities between students from both schools within the school setting. This would be the basis for ongoing development of TL language skills and cultural relationship between the two schools. It is hoped projects would allow for cross curricular development across both schools.
