Project Summary
Youth experiencing crises, especially parallel ones, such as homelessness, violence, addiction or poverty are not treated as a separate group – they balance between the offer addressed to children or to adults. There is a systemic lack of specialized tools adapted to the age of the youth group, including psychosocial and emotional development. There is also a lack of solutions targeted at young people not covered by specialist assistance – usually the period of escalation of problems is the moment of applying for help. The development of online tools will facilitate the process of establishing contact with young people in crisis, which will turn into maximizing opportunities in terms of institutional / systemic assistance.
Staff also have a limited field of acquiring knowledge and tools in relation to work with young people in parallel crises.
The project, through its thematic scope, is innovative, in addition enables the creation of tools that have an impact on improvement the situation of teenagers and sending them high-quality work that takes into account the needs of the group. An important element of the activities is the promotion of accompanying activities and relationship work as well as give back the voice for young people by including them in giving opinions and consulting on project activities.
Six European organizations got involved – from Italy, Slovenia, Poland, Greece, Romania and Portugal. Each partner is an expert in one problem area (violence, addiction, disability, poverty, homelessness, digitization).
The inclusion of organizations operating in different cultural environments allows ensuring the universality of the results developed, which in turn will translate into the possibility of their implementation in different countries.
The following will be created as part of the project:
– blogs targeted at young people from young people,
– online support platform,
– a manual for specialists who works with youth,
– a guide for practitioners working with young people.
There will be 5 partner meetings, 4 local conferences, 1 international conference, 2 trainings for specialists.
