Project Summary
Our joint project was focused on sharing information about the past, culture, traditions and customs of the partner countries, schools and their regions. It was the first partnership between schools, so mutual cultural knowledge was very important. Compared to the original plan, only three schools took part in the project, and the Greek school withdrew from the project at the beginning. We dealt with this change in such a way that the project coordinator (the Czech school) took over the tasks of the Greek school as well as the organization of the last international meeting. As part of the project implementation, we tried to proceed according to the schedule we set in the application. The main problem of implementation was the coronavirus pandemic in the spring of 2020, which made it impossible to hold the last meeting in the Czech Republic. Thanks to that, we extended the project until January 2021 and planned the meeting in the autumn. Unfortunately, the epidemiological situation made it impossible to act at this time. The problem also occurred on the part of the Italian school, where during the summer of 2020 the institution involved changed. Despite these difficulties, most of the outputs were realized and the basic goals of the project were met – mutual knowledge of cultures of all countries, development of communication in English, development of awareness common European belonging. Teachers had the opportunity to exchange experiences during international meetings, attend classes and gain inspiration for their own professional development. We managed to create a communication platform on e-twining, however, over time we switched to more suitable applications Whatsapp or Zoom, through which students and teachers were in contact. We managed to realize most of the outputs, which, in contrast to the original intentions, take the form of videos and are published on the project’s website – www.erasmus-dolany.cz. During the international meetings, all participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the culture and historical monuments of the region of each school, we also focused on important anniversaries that were taking place. The main outputs of the project are: video presentations of individual schools and regions, video presentations about international meetings and other partial works – brochure with quizzes, video presentations on Christmas culture, traditions, monuments of the region, video with project evaluation, video presentations on common European values and tourist guide in the form of a summary of videos and a brochure. Everything is published on the project website www.erasmus-dolany.cz, which was administered by the project coordinator.
