Project Summary
Greece, Italy, Romania,Poland and and Spain have designed a project to approach the European Literature to students, fostering gender equality and equal opportunities. This project will also promote literature produced by minority groups. Through the development of this project, we will also improve students’ creativity. We will try to make our students appreciate Literature as a way to express different traditions.
We will analyse the Old Literature to find a common link between all of us, analyse the contribution of foreign writers and the literature produced by women.
Our schools are experts on different fields, which will enrich the project.
We have decided to cooperate to achieve common objectives: to promote equal opportunities
through literature, to appreciate the contribution of women, refugees and expatriates (who are usually forgotten) in universal literature. Students will also get closer to Old and Modern Languages, in order to reverse the situation by which only a few of students decide to study these subjects at our schools. We aim at motivating students to continue studying after Compulsory Education. We are going to implement new methodologies and creative resources, useful to promote creativity.
This is a project addressed to Upper- secondary Students. We include short term exchanges of groups of students, who will cooperate in the different countries to work in key activities to the development of the project. We include 80 mobilities of students during the two years (20 students from each country), and 8 teachers, who will be in care of them during the mobilities. However, we will also engage other members of our staff and students in several competitions or games and other activities. We hope to bring beneficial changes into our school curriculums and lessons and also adapt good practices observed at partner schools. The project will help students to improve their language, ICT and social skills so needed in their future lives.
The project is divided into 5 sections:
– Old Greek literarature
-The Influence of Latin in Western Literature.
– Our writers and foreign writers in our regions
– Female literature: the role of female writers and female characters
-Creative Literature: we will produce creative writing, caligrams, dramas, ephemeries, visits to libraries, meetings with writers, incestations of national tales, reciting competitions, digital comics These topics will allow us to :
-learn about the culture of other partners, their most famous writers and works, customs, traditions
– learn about integration and equality and focus on strengthening European identity and tolerance and to promote gender’s equality
Through the direct commitment to the project, we want to increase young people’s motivation to learn classic and foreign languages, and to make them use the language in a real context. The project will contribute to increase the internationalisation at our schools and the level and quality of teaching and learning.
