Project Summary

»Our National Treasures Through the Eyes of the Children« is a 2-year cross-curricular project which includes students and teachers from 6 countries. Greece, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Spain and Slovenia.
Preserving Our national heritage has a significant role in creating our personal and group identification. We are all searching of our »roots«, so we can find the link with the past and our place today. But nowadays we are challenged with big changes. Globalization, digitalization and mass migration has changed our world. People travel and migrate due to different reasons, so we live with »others« who have different heritage.
We believe that nowadays the role of national heritage is even more important: 1. to not forget about our roots, 2. to learn and become aware that heritage is a human right of all, 3. to learn about importance of preservation and 4. to have an active role in it.
The main objectives of the project are:
1. To learn about the heritage of each country.
2. To learn the history and geography of each country.
3. To raise respect to other European countries and history.
4. To raise awareness of Unesco heritage and the importance of preserving it in the light of future changes in the European context and globalisation.
5. To develop European citizenship by knowing each other.

We will achieve these objectives by mobilities and internal activities.
Each country will do at least 14 mobilities including students and teachers, which means 98 mobilities. According to the interest and finances some schools will do even more mobilities, which they will fund by other resources (donations, parents, school).
Main planned internal activities are:
1. A site “National Treasures Through the Eyes of the Children” on eTwinning portal.
2. Each school prepares a multimedia presentation so the members get to know each other and posts it on the site.
3. Each school creates an Erasmus+ corner which develops through the project.
4. Logo competition: Applicant organization prepares the procedure for the logo competition, schools contribute their materials and a committee of school representatives choose the best logo and posts it on the site.
7. A booklet is published in print and e-version before hosting teachers and students of other countries.
8. Mobility includes field trips visiting the national sites. Students take the role of tourist guides.
9. Art and crafts teachers help students to build 3D models of the chosen national sites. Models are exhibited in the Erasmus+ corner and photos of them are posted on the site.
Our target groups in this project will be students on preprimary and primary level and their teachers.
The expected results of the project are:
1. Students and teachers will develop and raise their intercultural competences.
2. Students and teachers will develop and increase their linguistic skills.
3. Students and teachers will improve their ICT skills.
4. Students and teachers will develop their competences in multicultural education.
5. Students and teachers will improve their collaborative potentials.
