Project Summary

“Peace Is Possible” was a project designed for pupils at the age of 15 to 18 from five European countries (Germany, Austria, Sweden, Latvia and France). The aim of this project was to create an advertising campaign for the absolutely most important “product” you can promote: Peace! Due to this, the project took a closer look at determinant factors which create or prevent peace among nations.
The pupils learned to apply many basic and cooperative skills. Additionally they aquired a lot of knowledge about impact and production of state-of-the-art media.
In the context of the current political and social situation in Europe and the entire world, this educational programme has had an increasing relevance. Most of the students in Europe fortunately never have had any contact to war or armed hostilities. Therefore, a confrontation with this specific topic is extremely important to help them understand peace as an decisive asset worth campaigning for. To compile this campain, the students worked on current and historical case studies in transnational teams at the project meetings. The main outcome of the project was a movie. By sharing the movie with different online communities we supposed to multiply the message via viral dissemination by many supporters and followers all over Europe.
