Project Summary
The project has managed to develop activities in which Positive Coexistence has been a protagonist in school life, and essential to promote the correct acquisition of coexistence skills. It has been possible to verify the conditions that are created in the schools that allow the improvement of students’ behavior, the relationships among them and how they face the challenge of social inclusion assuming that this current reality is an opportunity to grow and foster among students the values of equality, respect and solidarity, strengthening the idea of European citizenship.
We have been able to approach the convivial realities of other schools and how positive coexistence has been encouraged from work and dedication. We have seen that the ties among the different delegations have been strengthened, the exchange of experiences and educational methodologies have enriched our teaching actions.
In the different learning activities, short and long-term mobility, eTwinning, as well as in management and project development teams, a total of 155 students and teachers have participated directly and approximately 300 more, indirectly (students, teachers, families, friends, staff of collaborating companies, non-teaching staff of educational centers, etc …)
Three transnational meetings were held in Spain, Germany and Greece, with the final objective of establishing the general aspects in the implementation of the program and conducting the follow-up sessions of the programmed objectives.
Three months reciprocal long-term mobilities among Spain, Finland and France. They have allowed our students to promote learning focused on the development of social and interpersonal skills, self-knowledge and multiculturalism. They have managed to get our students to develop an understanding of the diversity of European culture and languages, while helping them to acquire skills necessary for their personal growth. They have directly verified how different schools face coexistence, and they have been involved in different conflict resolution strategies with different roles specified in the program.
Four short-term mobilities have been made to Finland, Greece, Germany and France. The topics worked have been
Social Models and values which our teenagers pay more attention to.
Actions carried out in the schools of the different delegations to achieve a better and more effective positive coexistence.
Bullying and cyberbullying in the school context. Tools sharing and strategies used in each school to successfully solve different types of disruptive crises in the classroom.
The impact has been huge in our participating students, as they have had the opportunity to meet other European countries, other educational schools, other students and other families, making friends and improving their social and interpersonal skills.
We have appreciated a great number of applications to participate in future European programs by means of personal interviews and surveys on future training concerns. Similarly, and concerning families, it has been noticed a greater interest and willingness to participate in European projects.
The concern for language learning has improved significantly, both in students and in participating teachers. A significant improvement can be seen in the grades obtained in languages, as well as an increase of students in the language election.
Students have actively participated, and so will do, in all the activities of a convivial nature that took place in the schools, implementing what they learned in the groups of helping student, mediation, reception, volunteering and older brother. All the gained experience will provide them with better tools to help other students.
The internationalization of the schools is a long-term benefit that will undoubtedly improve the life of the school and its motivation to undertake projects of this nature with the parallel benefit to the students.
The worked and developed methodologies will benefit coexistence and social inclusion, in the short, medium and long term, once the different realities are contextualized and subject to periodic reviews and evaluations.
The project website, the collaborative wall, the activities of the results platform, the videos on social channels and the methodological proposals in order to improve coexistence will contribute in the long term to the improvement of the coexistence of European schools, since they will be available to others, and strategic associations that want to address this issue in other educational projects.
