Taking into consideration the great influence the social media has on youngsters’ life today, through the project “Power on Competencies” we aimed to equip youth workers with skills & competencies to empower young people with fewer opportunities to actively participate in local, national and European level through usage of new media and communication tools. The project aimed at addressing the new trends in youth participation based on technology and multimedia.

Objectives:• To provide youth workers with skills and knowledge how to use media and communication tools (social media, multimedia and photography) for fostering and encouraging young people with fewer opportunities.• To promote Erasmus + program and non-formal education approach as a powerful tool for young people engage engagement in everyday life in protection of marginalized youth.• To highlight the role of the Key-Competencies within Youth pass for youth empowerment.

<< Implementation >>

The implementation of this CBY Project consisted on implementation of local actions and mobility activities which brought together lot of inspiration, experience exchanging, new skills and competencies to be multiplied in the local level. The project aimed to deconstructing stereotypes and promoting mutual understanding among youth in six partner countries, through four main components: Empowerment, social rights, multimedia, peer education.

Project had a direct impact on skills and competencies of the involved youth workers and participants, by equipping them with knowledge, skills and attitudes to positively influence their surroundings in topic of youth empowerment.Project offered opportunities and resources for youth organizations to empower young people and provided also new experimental teaching tools aimed at motivating youngsters how to become active citizens and contribute in their communities live.
