Project Summary

The main goal of the project is supporting the social integration of prisoners and released people in the context of adult learning relations, and for this elaboration, development of pedagogical materials, methods, curriculums, moreover, knowledge and experience exchange, formation of strategic partnership, European-level cooperation with partner organizations, which undisputedly means a bigger knowledge base in the handling of this problem. The comprehensive goals of the project were the followings: reduction of economical/social and/or political marginalization, creation of the possibilities of (re)integration; actuation of social attitude change toward target group members and their problems; fight against discrimination and unequal opportunities. Concrete goals are the realization of experience exchange on a European-level, knowledge and experience exchange, exchange of good practices, in addition, joint development and elaboration of intellectual outputs; moreover the implementation of multiplier events and dissemination activities.

5 countries’ 5 organizations participated in the project, all of them are NGOs, and their main profile is the support of social reintegration of prisoners and released people. Organizations: Váltó-sáv Alapítvány (Hungary, www.valtosav.hu), KIC Edukos (Slovakia), RUBIKON Centrum (Czech Republic), CSF “Garstyčios grūdas” (Lithuania), Slawek Foundation (Poland).

Introduction of the most important completed activities with results:
– Implementation of 6 partner meetings (09-11.11.2015, kick off meeting, Budapest/Hungary; 16-17.03.2016, Prague/Czech Republic; 28-29.09.2016, Warsaw/Poland; 23-24.02.2017, Dolny Kubin/Slovakia; 05-06.06.2017 Alytus/Lithuania, 28-29.09.2017, Budapest/Hungary)

– Elaboration, making and testing of 8 intellectual outputs (O1: Traninig in prisons (analyses and studies), O2: Opportunities in preparation for release (methodology), O3: Opportunities in digital competence development in totally closed-institutes (pedagogical materials), O4: Focus on Freedom: preparation for release (publication + CD), O5: Social sensitization – tolerance improving, anti –discrimination training for the majority of society (new curriculum), O6: Individual, customized support: mentoring, individual development/training and learning path (pedagogical materials) O7: Development of transversal competences (pedagogical materials), O8: PRE-project (project summery; studies) (all are available here: http://www.preproject.hu/intellectualoutputs);

– Continuous project management (one of its most important element was the also continuous dissemination, project effects).

• Method-receiving: board game method / gamification (Slawek Foundation from VSA), methodology of money management (VSA from Edukos), helping work in prison (Rubikon from Grudas), elements of the Star Method (VSA from Rubikon), etc.
• New proposal and cooperation opportunity (EFOP-5.2.2-17 TRANSPORTER. Knowledge share in international cooperation – transnational cooperation) – the Slovakian partner continues to work with us in this construction as well, because our application got supported based on our professional program.

Further effects (in the aspect of target group, redistribution, sustainability):
– positive, approaching to the major society change in the state of the target group,
– the organizations’ management capacity and knowledge grow, this way they develop, which obviously has an impact on the state and its change – in the positive direction – to the target group members in hard situation helped by them
– methods, proceedings and pedagogical material, which can be used in a wider professional spectrum, were born, so in the case of the next target group we count on a positive effect after/during receiving it:
• trainings/educating organizations working with deviant youngsters
• organizations working with the social and labour market reintegration of underprivileged social groups, especially working with addicts (problems of criminality and addiction often present together)
• organizations working with alternative pedagogue and development/methodology of adult training in general
• because of prejudice reducing personas of economic sector, HRs and/or trainers of for-profit sphere in general
– Elaboration of recommendations.
