Project Summary
Title: Promoting the social inclusion of our disadvantaged children throught the knowledge of the rich European cultural heritages/history.
Context/background: All partner schools have, in various degrees, pupils at their school from different backgrounds, for example ethnic minorities, other european countries, pupils with behaviour and/or learning difficulties, or physical diabilities.
Objectives: To promote the social inclusion of our disadvantaged students and to promote diversity and equality, in education in our schools, in order to enhance and support the disadvantaged students, who are most affected from the negative impact of discrimination in its widest form. (e.g. racism, physical/mental disabilities, etc.)
Participants: A group of 10 European primary schools from the following countries: Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, Greece, The Netherlands, Sardinia, Sicily, Slovenia, Spain, Portugal. Coördinator is the school from The Netherlands.
Activities undertaken in the first year of the project 2017-2018:
A1: Creation of a common website and homepages for each participating country.
A2: Creating a logo for the partnership.
A3: DVD of each partner school participating in the project.
A4: DVD of the hometown, region and country of each particpating partner school.
A5: Presenting the cultural heritage of Greece (Hellas) during the 1st PM. Learning and teaching activities for teachers.
A6: A ‘Year of Tradition’ book, part 1: containing Spring and Summer celebrations/traditions, songs, recipes, etc.
A7: Presenting the cultural heritage of Finland during the 2nd PM. Learning and teaching activities for teachers.
A8: Producing a booklet containing familiar everyday words and phrases in the language of each partner school with English translations
and a recording of these words/phrases.
A9: Presenting the cultural heritage of Sicily (Italy) during the 3rd PM.
