Project Summary

The general objective is to create a school puppet theater to promote inclusion in a fun way, to prevent the dangers that threaten the students – especially school drop-outs & to offer superior teaching opportunities through free & unlimited specific access to quality education for min 3000 pupils between 3 and 19 years old. The partnership includes 5 institutions: The Theoretical High School “M. Kogălniceanu” Vaslui (coordinator), Istituto Statale Frosinone 3 (Italy); Agrupamento de Escolas of Vialonga (Portugal); Gymnazium of Livadia (Cyprus) and Şcoala Gimnazială 1 Pungeşti (rural school with no experience in projects located in an economically disadvantaged region). All the schools involved have a considerable number of students in vulnerable, socially disadvantaged, disabled, migrant, refugee or geographically isolated families (about 35% of the total) .The project thus meets the European priorities and the project’s outline and expertise will be easily transferable to other European schools. The cultural phenomenon of the puppets will be considered on the creative side, the new technologies, the support to the pupils and also, the European cultural heritage.
Specific Objective 1: to promote innovation & inclusion, learning by puppets & their civilizing, historical, artistic, communication & computer aspects in language teaching (French, English, Italian) through a unique original methodology.Product 1: Methodology of teaching with puppets against dropout & exclusion Product 1 BIS: The album “Discovering the traditions of puppets” SO 2: Supporting creativity, competitiveness, employability, growth of the spirit of initiative & involve at least 200 underprivileged students in 15 puppet shows & 5 studies on the cultural and historical aspects of puppet theater.OS3: develop a creative computer instrument on the eTwinning space of the project & a smartphone software for a linguistic & computer friendly & creative puppet approach in the 5 institutions involved +3 course materials for the training of teachers & students.Product 3: Project Etwinning Space and group; Product 4: Information site of the project; Product 5: 6 course supports; Product 6: Smartphone software with puppets.OS 4: strengthen social inclusion through a puppet festival (2 editions) created by the 5 project teams; Product 7: 2 editions of the International Puppets Festival.OS5: Encourage 630 students not to leave the school, improve the programs of the 5 schools concerned, increase the monitoring of the project by creating 3 course materials for 3 optional language courses (En, Fr, It) and counseling with puppets; 3 optional courses & couseling by puppets in various languages.OS 6: develop inventiveness & sense of theater through 15 puppet shows with original scripts & a documentary film in 4 episodes on the implementation of the project: Product 9: documentary film in 4 episodes; OS 7: Increase the didactic and computer skills of 20 language teachers by 10 multimedia art lessons using puppets, 10 multimedia history lessons & 10 language multimedia lessons with puppets (Product 10); OS8: reinforce cooperation & learning by using the information technologies through 12 webinars & 4 international training sessions during the 4 meetings. The main website of the project will be hosted on a domain having a web space rented for a long period (7 years) for maximum visibility,development and dissemination of all the project products that will be stored.The access to the methodology, creative texts and performances realized within the project will be offered for free to other institutions and potential users;puppets didactic techniques will be developed and updated during successive sessions.The course supports for the training of teachers and pupils will be used and supplemented at other new training sessions.The pieces created as part of the project will be published in a publishing house.The documentary filmed during the project will participate in international festivals, the multimedia workshop will continue to produce films.The documentary film of the project will also be placed on the video sites. Multimedia art lessons with puppets, those of multimedia history with puppets & multimedia in modern language (En, Fr, It) with puppets will be inserted in several MOOC courses. The webinar system will be maintained as mean of communication in a professional manner. The optional language course supports (En, Fr, It) using puppets will be offered to interested schools. The international puppet festival will be continued in a project of valorization. L’album on the cultural phenomenon of the puppets will be published at a specialized publishing house. New eTwinning projects on puppetry will be created.
