Project Summary

This project is a partnership between five countries: Romania, Turkey, Spain, Lithuanian and Bulgaria. In order to implement this project, our school informed on eTwinning its interest in participating at this project. As a result of the received mails, a special committee analyzed the mails and decided to involve in our project the four partners.
We started this partnership in base of the following objectives:
General objective – involving a minimum of 30 students and 6 teachers from every country in reading activities in order to develop the students reading skills, vocabulary and critical analyze during 2 years. Based on this general objective, we want to achieve the next specific objectives through this project grant:
O1: involving minimum 30 students of primary school and 6 teachers from every country in reading activities based on illustration during 5 months;
O2: promoting to a minimum of 30 students of primary school and 6 teachers, during 5 months, from every country, the reading styles in order to create books review sessions;
O3: creating a storybook from photos with a group of minimum 30 students of primary school and 6 teachers from every country in 5 months;
O4: promoting the necessity of reading through a campaign during 5 months, by visiting book houses and libraries with a group of 30 students from primary school and 6 teachers.
The main participants will be the primary school students (5-12 years old) from every country and the primary school teachers. Also, it will be a short-term exchange of groups of students between the partners from Lithuania and Spain in April and September 2020. This project is organized in four sections as:
Section I: (September 2019-January 2020) -Theme – “Let’s read”:
Proposed activities:
-An innovative story (composing stories based on images)
-The story from the picture (stories illustrated in the students’ pictures)
-My favorite book (video/PPT, etc)
-Let’s help the others read (cooperative learning reading among students)
Section II- Theme – “My favorite reading style” (science, belletristic, fiction, etc) (January 2020- June 2020)
Proposed activities
-My favorite reading style (A short presentation of the style – video, ppt etc)
-Why I like reading scientific/belletristic/fiction books? (video, ppt, etc)
-I share with you ….(creating a short review of the favorite book)
Section III- Theme – “Reading Person” (September 2020-January 2021)- proposed activities
-Photographs about books or people reading books
-Displaying these photographs in a catalog called “Reading Persons”
Section IV-Theme “A Book Is Telling” (January 2021-June 2021) – proposed activities
– “A Book Is Telling” – Visits to specific publication firms and publication houses
– “Which Kind of a Book Would I Write If I Were a Writer?” – ppt, video, etc
– “Library of My Dreams” promoting and visiting the libraries, the houses of the books
We want to obtain by implementing this project a new profile of the student, which will show the pass over from the unreading student who doesn’t have the ability to read and to analyze a text into a student capable to analyze different literature styles, to choose the favorite one, to sustain his choice and to have creative thinking and critical abilities. We want to implement a reading strategy which will be addressed in preparing the feature leaders by reading books. All the participating schools want to prove their ability to prepare students by participating to Olympics, competitions or National Exams, where the results evidence the students’ development in reading, comprehension and argumentation. Also, all our institutional needs are linked to the students’ needs, because, every pupil deserves a school where he can improve the ability of auto-forming by reading. During this project we want to obtain:
-a project website where to apply all the documents from each section;
-an international strategy based on models of activities to develop the students’ reading abilities;
-an international Facebook page where every student can post models of composed stories;
-an international story book from pictures written by our students;
Also, we want to use this European space on the follow-up process. What is the most important for us, is that after the project ends, by being partners for one year more, we can conclude more detailed:
-the strong and the weak points;
-how to prepare better for our international projects;
-to develop during a year after the project’s ends an international partnership on reading skills, and as a result to create an international brochure which contains pictures with the students and models of reading activities;
-to share with the other countries and schools our brochure by uploading it on the international reading platform and on eTwinning;
Our work can be accessed by every teacher who uses eTwinning (we want to create a brochure) and we would be glade in sharing with others schools our results and activity.
