Project Summary
Context: In the centre, there is an international project department formed by its coordinator, the centre’s management, the FCT coordination, the language departments and the department of orientation. The staff of the centre is highly trained in the use of ICT, in the language domain and the organization and development of PAP and Erasmus + projects. The centre has been carrying out mobilities abroad for more than 10 years. Goals: The two institutions participating in this project have in common the desire to improve the learning of foreign languages (French and Spanish) as well as to train responsible consumers who respect and protect their health and also the environment. We are interested in fair trade, ecological consumption, recycling and the influence of advertising on buying habits. Our goal is to train responsible consumers in a globalized world but without forgetting proximity trade, hence the importance of project transnationality, to compare consumption in both countries and improve the learning of foreign languages. Participants: Each partner institution will select a maximum of 15 participating students in total. Students of 4th year of Compulsory Secondary Education (15-16 years) and of 1st and 2nd of Baccalaureate (16-18 years) who study French. A fundamental requirement to participate in the project will be the learning of the foreign language. We will make an equal distribution of activities whose results will be presented during the mobilities and using the Twinspace space of Etwinning. Our methodology: It will be based on the realization of different activities and visits, all related to the theme of the project. We will carry out two activities during each exchange (four in total, that is, two per course) related to the theme of the project: visits of local markets to find out the origin of the products for sale, visits to ecological farms committed to the environment, where the food we consume comes form, workshops, conferences, learning about secure shopping online, evaluation and analysis of advertising, and so on. We will create a blog with the logo of the project where we will expose the activities carried out as well as the photographs and videos that we will make during the course of the activities. We will publish a report about the activities carried out as well as the mobilities in the institute’s annual magazine. The assessment of the project will be continuous, relating the objectives with the results achieved. Special attention will be paid to the activities being developed in the foreseen time and to be assessed later. The assessment tools can be debates, observation, questionnaires, interviews … We seek greater motivation on the part of participating students, exchange of good practices, the internationalization of partner institutions, the mobility of teachers and students, the improvement of the level of acquisition of foreign languages and the involvement and participation of families. Our goal is to ensure that this project on responsible consumption reaches the whole educational community, including families, and that our young people become responsible consumers.
