Project Summary
The future of our young people will be characterized by the use of the computer and the robot. To meet these challenges, it is absolutely necessary to be able to understand and apply the essence of programming. Our location offers since many years the focus BioTec (biologically-technical focus) and our experience in this regard has been extremely positive. Even performance weaker students demonstrate in building and programming robots high concentration willingness and perseverance. These skills will be implemented according to experience in “normal lessons” and also in daily life. The project “Robotic goes Europe” is about to expand the knowledge of robotic for exchanges with students from the partner countries and to act as important multipliers in the individual countries. To fulfill this role the two final products (workbook and Moodle course) make excellent services. Of course key skills, such as tolerance, social and language skills are encouraged. The young people participating in the 4 partner countries are 9-14 years old and some of them have previous experience in the field of robotics and working with Moodle courses.Activities:- Students of higher grades are active as “Lego Buddys” for younger pupils- Testing of the workbook to WeDo- 4 organisation or business meetings (trainings in WeDo and EV3 programming)- Creating a country own Moodle course- Students meetings with mixed Legorobot competitionPermanent e-mail contact ensures a productive exchange. Creation of a website with publication of results.Results:- Workbook to WeDo created with practical learning modules- Moodle course for programming and building EV3 robots
