Project Summary

This project follows an ERASMUS+ project which was realized in the years 2014-2017. The project partners from the Czech Republic and the Netherlands wished to continue successful cooperation which was started and wanted to develop European dimension of their work in education further on. Third partner was chosen in the Slovak Republic. The partnership includes three partner towns which cooperate together for more than 20 years – Příbram, Hoorn and Kežmarok.

It is a strategic partnership project for school education aimed at cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices. Partners of this project are Municipalities of Příbram, Hoorn and Kežmarok, schools from these towns – Základní škola, Příbram VII, 28. října 1, Zakladni skola, Pribram II, Jiraskovy sady 273, Grundschule Kežmarok, Stichting Penta Hoorn and non-school organisations involved in free-time education – Techák Březnice, Stichting Netwerk Hoorn and CVC Kežmarok.

The title of this project is “Robotics moves the world”. Robotics is a current issue, we live in the digital world and teachers and pupils should be able to deal with robotics which is all around us and this is the main innovative component of this project. The project has three main products including a robotics manual, a set of methodology worksheets related to three sub topic – ozobots, robotic lego, virtual reality – and 3 modules of courses related to these sub-topics. An integral outcome of this project is a virtual tour of participating towns, which will be created by all partners and pupils of participating schools.

The project has about 2500 direct and indirect participants. Direct participants include workers of municipal authorities of all regions, elementary schools and worker of non-school organisations active in the branch of after-school and free-time activities. Indirect participants are citizens from local communities in participating regions and other indirect participants at whom the dissemination is aimed. The project is based on methods of experiential teaching, non-formal learning and long-life learning. A specific topic of this project is inclusion, as both regions have citizens from disadvantaged social classes and this project should lead to their better integration into community life.

The project activities include educational activities aimed at robotics, during these activities, partial results will arise and will be presented on the project web-site and in the E-twinning platform. Educational institution will prepare their own materials and worksheets and finally all material will be collected to form the above mentioned final products. Courses for participating teachers as well as other local teachers will be organise to increase the number of lessons in which robotics will be used. A final local conference in participating regions with the aim to inform about the results of this project and promote the programme Erasmus+ will be held. The audience of the conference will be public, local citizens, teachers from all types of schools in the region and local political representatives. During the conference the outputs of the project and its methodology will be presented to the visitors.

During the thre-year project lifecycle, three transnational meeting will take place, one in each partner town with a total number of 48 mobilites. Pupils and teachers of participating schools will take part in three LTAs in each partner town with a total number of 96 mobilities (80 pupils and 16 teachers).

All results and outcomes will be used to refresh, update and modify the school curricula to suit the needs of todays pupils growing up in the European background. The experience and skills gained during further education courses will be reflected in the educational programmes of all participating kindergartens and schools. Long term benefits of this project include improving the level of key competences and professional skills of all participants, enhancing transnational cooperation and the dissemination of good practice.
