Project Summary

We want to develop this project in the context of our preoccupations for quality assurance for our education activity. The project is built in accordance with our institutional needs, of all partners: the need to diversify the didactic strategies in order to achieve better results in science and mathematics; the need to improve communication skills in a foreign language. Our objectives are: to improve the skills and competences in the field of mathematics and science, to improve the school results and the results of the semesters and final works (at the end of the end of the final year of the study), to increase the students’ motivation to study English, mathematics and sciences, teachers will use the learning by new teaching strategies, developing communication skills in English for all participants, promoting skills related to the values of European citizenship – collaboration, acceptance of diversity, empathy, tolerance, mutual respect.
6 schools from 6 countries participate in the project. 3 countries are at the first participation in this project. All schools are small schools. 3 of them are from rural areas. Partners are united by institutional features and needs. Will develop the project with students aged 10-14. At the level of the partnership, a common operational plan will be established which will include a common monthly activity. In the first year there will be especially preoccupations about science and in the second year there will be preoccupations mainly for mathematics. In most activities, science will intertwine with mathematics. Teachers will participate in two learning activities and students will meet twice a year.
For each meeting there is a pre-set theme and organizational details. We want tangible results such as: project signs, studies, portfolios, video, photo albums, project log, blog for students, a project webpage, magazines, brochures. As non-tangible results, we want to have: halving the number of students with poor school results in science and mathematics in each of the partner schools; halving the number of drop-out pupils in each partner school; developing communication skills in a foreign language through direct communication and product development in this language (portfolios, studies, messages …); teachers’ use of modern teaching strategies such as Blended Learning, Content and Language Integrated Learning, flip classroom, peer learning, WebQuest, PBL- learning projects, learning-by-teaching, focus group. We expect a qualitative change at the level of: students’ interest in science, mathematics, English; school drop-out; the performance of teachers of mathematics, science, English (materialized performances using techniques and methods leading to the participation of pupils in different projects, activities, regional competitions); community relations (student families will support school in their activities). We expect our students to change their civic
attitude towards the environment positively because they will also address issues of citizenship interest such as water pollution, air pollution. A clear and well-implemented project develops the school institution (tangible products will also be used in other learning moments, with the other schools increasing the positive image). In this way, all the actors involved in the project will benefit.
