Project Summary
The `Sciencing Europe´ project starts from the development of the European Pillar of Social Rights and the Recommendation of the European Council of May 22, 2018, and aims to direct its efforts to the promotion of common values, protection or social inclusion and mainly to the fight against dropping out of school.
For this, part of the following NEEDS:
– Tackle early school drop-out rates, by increasing the involvement of students in educational processes, reinforcing their motivation.
– Deepen the updating of teachers’ skills, aimed at promoting educational innovation.
– Combat the lack of social inclusion in educational institutions.
– Improve the educational care of students with disabilities or special needs.
In order to respond to these needs, the project pursues the following OBJECTIVES:
– Increase the involvement of students and their families in the educational process, through open, innovative and own strategies of the 21st century, that reinforce the competence of Learning to Learn, and that contribute to the reduction of early school dropout rates.
– Develop effective and efficient training programs, scalable and easily disseminated, that provide any educational institution with strategies to develop skills in STEM areas.
– Favor the social inclusion of people with disabilities and people at risk of social exclusion, taking them into account as the core of our actions and pedagogical designs around the project, developing training annexes that facilitate the teaching care of this student body.
On the other hand, the project is aimed at the Educational Community (students, teachers and families) and other nearby Educational Institutions as main RECIPIENTS. We intend to provide the same with an approach that allows reaching, at first, more than 15,000 people, being expected that this number will increase exponentially through the implementation of the main products of the project in new educational centers, counting the project with a strong scalable character .
Thus, seeking the highest quality that benefits the Project, an ambitious PARTNER SELECTION process has been implemented, counting on strategic institutions from Spain, Slovenia, Latvia, Germany, Serbia and Lithuania, specialists in the different fields of the project, and representatives of excellence from diverse environments and work areas.
On this basis, the main ACTIVITIES to be carried out are, among others:
– Creation of common learning spaces open to the community through the installation of Monitored Greenhouses that come to provide information on environmental aspects.
– Creation of quality educational content aimed at monitoring the environment and learning content related to it, using Virtual Reality through 360° recordings and Augmented Reality.
– Design and Development of two Training Programs of a didactic nature, respectively focused on each of the two previous results. These Programs or Work Units will be teaching tools that are easily scalable and can be disseminated to any teacher and educational center in the partner countries. They will contain an absolutely inclusive approach and will be suitable for students with different abilities.
– Academic scientific study around the application of these two training programs.
– Development of a film for Planetarium, and for 360º platforms such as YouTube 360º or Virtual Reality, about the project, the environment and the European Cultural Heritage.
Similarly, regarding METHODOLOGY to be applied in the project, it will be based on Transparency, Involvement of the largest number of representatives of different groups, Democratic Processes and the Horizontal Hierarchy, facilitating different management strategies and common work in regarding cooperative work, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
Finally, the RESULTS and IMPACT that are intended to be achieved are:
– Reduction of the school dropout rates among the students to whom the project is directed, as well as improvement of their attitude towards the Teaching-Learning process.
– Empowerment of educational and social inclusion, contributing to a fairer and more equitable society.
– Improvement of teaching practice, increasing innovation and creativity, through eclectic methodologies that promote the improvement of educational processes.
In conclusion, this project seeks to contribute to the renewal process of the partner educational institutions, responding to needs that require innovative and novel approaches, aiming for the necessary educational excellence and quality that the European Union demands.
