Project Summary

We are 4 schools from different countries (Belgium, Italy, Romania and Bulgaria), very rich in their traditions. Our project aims to keep and transmit a lot of information on traditions, on cooking recipes, on food, on folklore. Our students will study and share this information with their partners, using new and traditional technologies. We intend to make a multilingual dictionary of cooking terms, we will share recipes related to religious or pagan festivals, we will learn to make new recipes with typical foods from each country. We will make a cookbook with traditional recipes that the students will make together. In addition, seminars, workshops and cultural craft courses will be organized. Practical activities will stimulate our students above all to have confidence in their abilities and their ideas. Regular contact between teachers will ensure proper planning and evaluation at each stage. This project will provide a better understanding of food production, typical recipes, respect for the traditions of each country, but also an understanding of the education systems of the countries involved in order to create better health, a generation more tolerant and open to the values of a greater Europe. We also intend to improve the pedagogy of all participating schools by sharing good practices, didactic experiences, promoting language learning and new technologies, creativity and initiative. Participation in this project can improve the motivation of our students and the academic performance of some of them, by showing them, thanks to their knowledge of foreign languages, the different cultures and the mobility that this project can offer them. It will certainly be useful to resolve the situation of social discrimination, to promote the feeling of belonging to the same community and to help the integration of our students in school life and later in society. This project will also include 4 mobilities. Each of them will take place in one of the schools participating in the project.
