Project Summary
The project background and goal of this project was to develop together with the partners a concept, how food can be produced sustainably. This was in line with the need (a megatrend) for healthy food. Another important project objective was to develop rural areas in a sustainable manner, especially in the area of food production, land management, sustainable construction of residential and commercial buildings as well as in the field of business or public transport. This project was carried out on a transnational basis, as the global food exchange does not make it practical to implement this production philosophy in just one location. Environmental protection knows no borders. The criteria for the search for a partner were: previous cooperation in other projects, linguistic connections, historical connections and, of course, the professional backgrounds. In total, 3 cooperation partners with a total of approx. 36 people took part in the project. The Leading Partner was the Güssing Agricultural College (LFS Güssing). The contents, administrative processing and financial management were worked out together with the partners. Within the 27 months in each semester and each partner country, a five-day seminar block will be held on the contents of the project. Intended results included innovative syllabi / pedagogical methods / development of training intercultural / intergenerational education and lifelong learning in the field of sustainability in the agricultural sector. The goal was reached when in the end a concept could be drawn up in which “best practice” examples were presented, sustainable building culture was cultivated, energy was generated, field crops were produced and happy animals produced the best food. Results from this could be included in the curriculum or included in the advisory activities of the agricultural lobbies.
