Project Summary
INNOVAT has been a project to strengthen the capacities and competencies of 8 social and academic organizations working in the field of youth, 5 in Europe (Spain, Portugal, Greece, Slovakia and Romania), and 3 in South America (Nicaragua, Colombia and El Salvador). The objective of the project has been to improve the work of these organizations in the field of SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP and YOUTH PARTICIPATION, through:
1. Learning methodologies for social innovation, by youth technicians that were subsequently applied in youth training spaces in each country.
2. The generation of spaces for promotion, professional development and exchange of good practices that have strengthened networking and the positioning of innovation and social entrepreneurship methodologies.
3. The diffusion of learning tools and free access methods aimed at young people and youth technicians on social entrepreneurship.
During the period currently justified (December 2015 – October 2017) the main ACTIVITIES of this project have been:
MEETING IN NICARAGUA – 17 participants (9 men – 8 women) in February 2016: for the start-up of the project, the exchange of ideas and the planning of actions, functions and calendar, among the main project managers in each country.
MOBILITY OF WORKERS OF YOUTH – 27 participants (9 men – 18 women) all of them, youth workers from partner organizations, held in May 2016, in order to offer training on SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP focused on Social Innovation methodologies (SCPS / STORYTELLING)
SOCIAL INNOVATION FORUM linked to the active participation of youth – 251 people, including 32 members of partner organizations (March 2017).
DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES have been developed by each of the partners at three different moments of the project to promote knowledge about the process of strengthening innovative methodologies for youth participation and to share the experience and intellectual results (such as videos, training, study of social entrepreneurship or the Good Practices Guide and the conclusions of the Forum with entrepreneurial spirit. In total 24 events have been carried out, with a total of 1107 participants.

Content of the online course on Social Entrepreneurship (included in the MOOC course). to offer new knowledge, skills and information on new methodologies and tools for social innovation such as SCPS and Storytelling and which can be found on the project website in the resources section: https://goo.gl/wCQCPC.
Two research studies on youth social entrepreneurship “Social entrepreneurship as an economic and social engine: study of public policies and experiences for their promotion in Europe and Latin America” related to the analysis of public policies that promote entrepreneurship as a social development strategy , available on the project website in the resources section: https://goo.gl/D39oJ2. The second study “SOCIAL INNOVATION: MEASURING THE IMPACT”. Production of eight videos of good practices and a final video of the whole process: prepared by each partner from the implementation of the innovative methodologies acquired in the training and put into practice in the Social Entrepreneurship Laboratories, to show their specific experiences and others located in their contexts.
