Project Summary
It is a widely known fact that education starts in family first and it is an important part of community. However, in the last years there is a remarkable rise in the amount of divorcing and expatriate families as we discussed with our project partners, it appears to us common problems as partner schools. So students from these families are directly influenced negatively because when the family has problems,it immediately affects the students’ academic success. We are sure that both parents and school intend to succeed the identical aims,in other words leading students to learn to be a qualified and responsible person and accordingly being successful individuals in their lives. We know from different researches that students will increase their academic graphics, join the classes regularly, behave positively and also they have a favorable manner to school when the school and parents work together. We are sure of the fact that the collaboration of school-parents and students is the cornerstone of qualified education. As partners, students of some of ours are children of divorced families; some of ours are children of refugee families who are enduring a life with just one parent leaving their countries for economic reasons wars and disease etc. Some of the students are orphans.Teachers of participating schools’ will learn to differentiate between disagreement, various forms of bullying and different forms of tension that gives harm to academic success, self -esteem and capacity to build community.Teachers will discover the good aspects of conflict and learn ways to promote the most efficient communication ability using a variety of activities which can be simply adjusted to any classroom.Participants will obtain significant methods to encourage a favorable atmosphere in school and avoid peer-bullying.Also they will aware of the students’ sensual needs, inner strength and emotional needs for developing themselves individually and socially. Disadvantageous or student with fewer opportunities will take part in the activities, with the purpose of decreasing peer-bullying issues. They will encourage the quality progress, innovation and Europeansation. They will exchange good practices in education during the project activities. This Project is a result of an attempt for the teachers who try to guide their students through their communication problems, inner fights and aggressive manners that disrupt the class order and the union. We think that this project will bring child’s self-confidence and increase the desire to learn. We are in need of variety in school activities in order for each student, even though s/he is part of disadvantaged group,to get qualified education,to get a positive view for school and to enjoy the lessons themselves. We organized our activities to understand our disadvantageous students’ social and sensual problems, what the students understand from violence and peer-bullying,how bullying happens and why it occurs in different cultures also the solutions that they use.As a consequence, through the planned activities like workshops on peer-bullying,forming a poster with not more than 130 characters, visiting divorced and expatriate families, organizing a tour to a Child Protection Agency or Nursery Home,anti-bullying walkings in each partner countries’special days or weeks,a sports and art and craft workshop,A Snap word Competition among all the students about bullying in each partner school, how to Prevent Cyber Bullying Workshop, preparing a leaflet about anti- bullying,a workshop with the school psychologist, organizing a trekking in the nature, organizing a vocabulary game,a presentation to the European participant staff about ONEM project, creating a list of top tips on how to overcome bullying by pairs or small groups, using ditch the label statistics in a quiz and through exhibition of photographs and paintings about all kinds of bullying, making a social experiment on bullying, creating a video with the students’ own speeches about bullying,we will reduce and prevent bullying particularly peer-bullying.While doing these activities we will use total physical response since we will see different schools and observe their environments during the Project. We will also use role play techniques and communicative approach so that each of the participant has the opportunity to keep in touch with each others from the beginning and to the end of the Project. We(Finland,Turkey,Spain,Britain,Macedonia) agreed on 5 students between the ages of 12-16(because this age range contains the period of adolescence)and 2 accompanying teachers particularly who are suitable for the criterias for each mobility. Our Project will affect a lot of people during the implementation stage of the project and after the project. As results of this Project, we will create awareness about bullying, particularly peer-bullying and we will change bad behaviors with the positive ones, decrease the number of bullying at schools and overcome these problems.
