Project Summary

Reducing the average European rate of early school leavers to less than 10% by 2020 is one of the education headline targets of the Europe 2020 Strategy1. Investment in the educational achievement of young people is essential for the employmentprospects of every young person. Investing in education helps to break the cycle of deprivation and poverty leading to the social exclusion of too many young people across Europe.A priority objective of educational policies is encouraging young people to continue their education and training beyond the mandatory stages for its positive effects on the individual development and social progress and for easing their access to the labour market. Reducing ESL requires the active involvement and cooperation of stakeholders at national, regional, local and school level. This includes teachers, parents, pupils and their representative associations together with guidance centres, trade unions, employers, and other experts such as social workers or school psychologists. Keyrepresentatives from policy fields such as employment, youth, health, welfare and social policy need to be involved in a collective approach to reducing ESL from the start. Each partner and each policy area provides a valuable and different perspective in understanding ESL processes. They each play an important role indefining solutions and offering expertise to address different factors leading to ESL.Cooperation is particularly important in second chance education where learners often face multiple problems and require comprehensive support.since it is a common problem,we will work with partner schools to overcome it at Eropean level. It requires clear and shared goals, a common language, a mutual understanding of expected outcomes, good communication and a clear definition of roles and responsibilities of all partners. The main objctives are;-To identify the reasons of ESL.-To identify characteristics of youth at risk of ESL -To make school more appealing – promoting extracurricular activities taking place in the school-Involvement of pupils and parents into school life-Support cooperation between schools, local communities, parents and pupils in school development and in initiatives to reduce ESL-To tackle early school leaving as a challenge in the context of the European dimension of education to enhance equity and inclusion. -To share best practice within the partnership and To produce corresponding best practice handbookIn our partnershipa,b,c,d,e will cooperate in the project. The profile of the participants are teachers and students. The partner schools will be in contact with other stakeholders to combat early school leaving.During the project;Teachers will identify the reasons of ESL,and studnets who are under risk. All the partner will share the best examples about topic, exchange good practices, developing creative teaching method, peer education and outdoor education. They will also be in contact with vet providers, policy makers, employers, guidance services etc.to promote the students in career planning. When implementing the project activities;intercultural learnin, non formal education, brain storming, peer education, outdoor education will be used. The project cycle management will be used to implement the project successfully.at the end of the project; The students ;-will be supported within the school area about their social, emotional and behavioral difficulties-will have capability in preparing themselves for job opportunities and career planning-will be aware of the importance of education-will be aware of understanding themselves and others as part of a wider Europe, and will have a chance to understand their role in society and Europe/world they would like to live in-will develop their digital competences and foreign languagesThe teachers;-will learn using efficient communication strategies (they will be more assertive, empathetic and they will be better at expressing their emotions). -will incorporate the approach and solving methods of dealing with interpersonal conflicts; they will demonstrate conflict negotiation abilities compromise in solving conflicts and they will transfer these newly learned skills to their students and the parents -will be aware of everyone’ responsibility in tackling school drop outsMainly;-the number of school dropouts will reduce.-it will be intended to identify the best strategies to prevent and combat early school learning -the popularity of our schools will increase among the students and their parents’ viewThe project provides a solution to tackle this by the development of a high quality strategy to be used by all actors of the school systems to better understand and tackle these situiations and remove those related obstacles that threaten students’ chances to be active and wary citizens.
