Project Summary

The background of the project is the STEAM promotion in English language.
Goals of the project are:
a) Pupils from both countries prepare themselves at the respective location for the handling of electronic components for
the construction of a solar airplane.
b) Sustainability: the topic of flying offers countless starting points for sustainability (travel, CO2 footprint, alternative
propulsion systems…).
c) Language: the entire project will be conducted in English. English is a foreign language in both countries and therefore
a challenge for all participating pupils. Through the choice of products and the project character, the fun of learning a
language is made tangible.
d) peer to peer teaching to primary pupils: The solar airplanes are manufactured with primary pupils and given to them as
a gift. You can never teach a student, what a student can teach a student!
e) Student exchange offers insights into two countries full of contrasts.
f) teaching European values is part of the long-term development strategy of both schools
