Project Summary

The main idea of the project is to make students more interested in learning natural science and make it easier for them to chose the future education and career. We can get it by:
– improving quality of teaching, improving our teachers’ expertise in natural science teaching
– involving students in taking part in extra curricular activities
– connecting theory with practice by visiting factories and different institutions using chemistry or biotechnology.
The project comprises 4 schools and students aged from 13 to 16. We will especially try to support students who are less privileged in any way.
We will start our activities by a workshop for teachers from all our schools. It will take place during the first mobility in Poland. There will be at least 3 more workshops for teachers organised in their own schools. It will help us to increase and to standardise our way of teaching.
All our schools have already established cooperation with some secondary schools to enable students to get to know with their educational options and to show importance of natural science in their future education. We have chosen schools connected with gastronomy or food industry, because in this way, knowledge about sugar, fat, acids, alkali and chemical salt can be made more tangible and closer to their everyday life.
Students will take part in activities offered by “Erasmus Discoverers Club” where they will do experiments and make educational films.
We will also organise educational school trips to food factories to see how to apply knowledge in practice.
To highlight the international aspect of our programme we will work on eTweening platform and we provide our students with some workshop about Erasmus programs.
One of the most important parts of the project will be mobilities. Students will work together and share their knowledge gained in their schools.
Students will improve their English skills, interpersonal skills and cultural awareness.
The project will be conducted using “PCM” method. Coordinators from all our schools will work on all the steps of the project: programming; identification; formulation; implementation and evaluation.
Programming: We exchange our ideas and put them into time frames. W also identify our needs and possible risk.
Identification: The project coordinator chooses a set of activities proposed by all partners and tries to get an agreement about them.
Formulation: All elements are done by Polish coordinator. All partners coordinate their local activities. Number of workshop, number of students and teachers, etc.
Implementation: The most important part of the step will be monitoring of our activities. Finance and high standard of our activities will be monitored by school coordinators together with their school account departments. In order to do this, reports and mails will be used.
Evaluation: The timetable of the project will be still compared with our activities. The monitoring will be used to make our activities better. During mid and end project evaluation we will try to find out if we get our goals and what is the level of satisfaction of all people involved in the program.
The main product of our project will be a set of lessons scenarios together with a set of educational films prepared by students.
The results that we want to get are:
– increase of our teachers competence ( around 100 teachers will take part in different workshops) and to improve their language skills ( around 52 teachers will have to use English wile working on the project). It will have a long lasting effect on our schools.
– increase of students’ interest in science. (15% more than at the beginning of the project).
– better language skills of our students
– higher prestige of our schools
– long lasting cooperation with secondary schools
