Project Summary
The ISS F. Alberghetti (Imola / Italy) and the Oskar von Miller School (Kassel / Germany) have been working on the further development of their pedagogical concepts for years, in response to changing economic, structural and pedagogical conditions. The goal is the realization of a new learning and teaching culture, which motivates the learners and places them at the center of the activities of the learning process. The role of the teacher in this pedagogical concept is that of a coach who suports the learner. Classes are largely individualized; learning management systems and computer-based training (cbt) are implemented. So learning can be independent of time and place; In the dual training system (Germany), training companies can also be involved in the course of the learning cooperation. In full-time VET systems (Italy), learning activities in traineeships can be linked to learning in the classroom.
International co-operation enables the reconciliation and further development of pedagogical developments in schools. In combination withplacements abroad, the European dimension of today’s working and living environment becomes recognizable and tangible for the project-involved learners and teachers. In this way required intercultural competences can be built up
The aim of all activities of the participating schools in the context of VETn is to make the learners “fit for the future” in a globalized economy and to support the ability to lifelong and self-determined learning.
In the field of automotive engineering of the participating schools, this should be further supported by the selection, testing and implementation of suitable computer based training software. After the project has been completed, the trainees (8 students of the automotive sector) can independently use the jointly developed learning / teaching arrangements and learning materials in the classroom and – if possibly – also in practical training phases. So they are able to develop the abilities described above.
The project outcomes will be developed during three activities (activity 1: 3 teachers per school will develop appropriate learning and teaching materials; activity 2: 8 students each school will test the developed materials; activity 3: 8 students each school will test the revised materials and develop a multilingual video tutorial to use the software and materials) and are then transferred to the regular VET activities of the participating schools. Cooperation in the project strengthens the professional and social skills of the participants and creates a mutual understanding of the life and work of the participating learners and teachers.
As part of the dissemination, information sessions will be held for local and regional network partners of the schools. The described method of working should be used to further develop and consolidate the cooperation of the partners.
