Project Summary

The AGRO project is aiming to promote the cooperation between Europe and Africa in the field of youth and explore the potential of youth work in order to increase the employability of the young people in the field of agriculture which represents a great potential for the economies of the Partner Countries. In order to promote this objective, AGRO has organised 3 transnational seminars, 2 capacity building training courses and 1 transnational Seminar, and 1 e-learning course in order to train the youth workers from the Partner Countries in the organisation of non- formal and informal learning activities for the development of the skills of young people related to the exploitation of the community assets and the development of agricultural enterprises. About 140 youth workers from all the partner countries were involved in the activities of the project both through the participation in the transnational training events and through their participation in the e-learning course that the project has developed. The main emphasis was given to the youth workers from the Partner Countries (Cameroon and Ghana). More than 150 youth workers have participated actively from the Partner Countries (90 youth workers through the participation in the capacity building training events and more than 60 youth workers through the participation in the e-learning course). Those youth workers that participated are then going to implement practically the knowledge obtained through their participation in the training events with their activities with the local young people. PArtners received nuoerous feedvacks from the youth workers participating in the activites. More than 500 young people have benn benefited indirectly from the activities of the project through the dissemination campaigns of the partners. The project, in order to achieve its objectives, involved also significant multipliers and stakeholders from the sector of agriculture, the school sector, the technical sector of agronomes, the artisanat sector. The consortium of the project is multi-actor, it has a great experience in the field and it has complementary competencies. 5 partners coming from 4 countries (Greece, Italy Cameroon and Ghana). The partners from the Partner Countries (Cameroon and Ghana) are youth organisations that are willing to build their capacity to support youth exchanges and also to support the youth in their local community. The European partners include organisations experts in training related with the sustainable agricultural development, experts in e-learning courses and experts in the field of the organisation of youth related activities. The transnational seminar was organised in Italy and the two capacity building training courses were organised in Ghana and Cameroon. The last training course in Ghana was combined with a final conference . The organisation of the e-learning course gave the possibility to overseas people to participate and increase significantly both competences and skills. Giving more possibilities to attend the course also to people located outside the partners beneficiaries. A joint program was organised in the last conference in Ghana where the partnership staff and youth had the possibility to gather ad share esxperiences with other youth participating in another Eramsus + project in Accra, T Bridges.
