Project Summary

In the context of the project it is important to point out that participating schools are dealing with high and growing disadvantaged students. Among them, there are more and more Romani pupils, where, in addition to treating social disadvantages, Romani traditions and elements of culture have to be recognized as well. In schools operating in Romania, Hungarian students also experience the neglect of minority existence in further education. Economic indicators in these areas are well below the advanced European average. Economic underdevelopment affects families, and more people live at the level of deep poverty. A very small percentage of disadvantaged students gain qualifications and fewer in the secondary education institution. As a result, the disadvantaged population is growing and the social problems are re-produced. They fear that the professional demands created by economic development can not be met, so only a small part of them can enter the labor market. There are many underdeveloped people with a generation of unemployment. Therefore, only the right choice of advanced education can be the only way out.
Developing a positive vision of our disadvantaged people on the ground of reality so that they can and will help themselves. Prepare a successful career choice through the establishment of good self-assessment. Reducing inequalities in the learning outcomes of different disadvantaged students, and professional enhancement of the vocational profession.
The project was implemented through three primary schools. The Tiszavasvári member institution of the Magiszter Foundation Kindergarten, Primary School Secondary School, Secondary School and Vocational School and its partners are the Tamási Áron Elementary School of Farkaslaki and the Primary School “Gymnasium” in Gyergyószentmiklós.
Within the framework of the project, the working parties of the partnership formed intellectual products. Find yourself! – our program is for upper primary school students, which focuses on career guidance, besides complex personality development. Our program consists of three parts: Find yourself! – career orientation curriculum , which mainly includes classroom lessons, but also presents the possibility of preparing career choices within multiple subject hours. My Family is a friendship club-type activity that gives parents a novel relationship with the school. Modular occupations include afternoon leisure activities. With our program activities, it develops student susceptibility and flexibility. By promoting human activities, experiences and professions, vocations and life stories, it helps to make pupils more aware of their schooling, to raise awareness of the role and responsibility of the individual in planning and organizing his / her life, and also to the motivation of learning.
Parallel to this program, we have developed teacher training. Practical testing, correction and correction of the developed program has also taken place. This has become permanent through international partner meetings.
As a result of the developed intellectual products, you and your partner are developing. Realistic self-image emerges, which is associated with the knowledge of professions. Thus, the chance of successful career choice increases. The relationship to learning is changing. By developing learning habits, students will be more motivated. Teachers also have a complex perspective on development. Innovative pedagogical methods are used. The parents’ relationship with the school changes. They will be more cooperative and more accepting. The population of the settlements could also get acquainted with our activity, as at each meeting of the parties a TV recording or newspaper article appeared in the local press.
Sustainability of the project is ensured due to the developed program elements. All three institutions continue to use this everyday pedagogical practice of this program. Accredited pedagogue training allows multiple schools to get to know and utilize the knowledge acquired here in practice. The closing conference was attended by a number of interested schools, where they received the developed intellectual products on CD, so they had the opportunity to use the project results in detail or even in their entirety.
