Project Summary

The TELESEICT project is the result of a successful partnership between 11 HEI from 10 EU countries, whose main goal was to fill the gap in using ICT tools in an educational context by future teachers. However, during its implementation, the partners realised the need for extending it to other public besides the future teachers.
The use of ICT tools in the educational context will compensate the adequacy to the needs and characteristics of the students. Since the project was focused on the use of ICT applied to people with disability functional diversity in teaching and learning processes, we started with a diagnostic questionnaire about ICT and SEN, having obtained approximately 1700 answers from HEI students (future teachers) from the 10 European partners of the consortium. In order to obtain the expected results (O1, O2, O3, O4 and O5) different activities were undertaken, such as: 2 Intensive Programs (Portugal and Turkey) with all partners; 5 transnational meetings along the 3 years project to continuously proceed with the analysis of the project; in more restricted groups (regional groups) 8 teaching/learning/training activities; a Symposium of Good Practices (E1-Multiplier Event) in Hungary and an International Congress (E2-Multiplier Event) in Spain. The results within TELESEICT project were: 1-the construction of an online platform with the modules “Intellectual Disability”, “Physical Disability”, “Hearing Loss and Deafness”, “Vision Loss and Blindness” in all languages of participating countries, plus in English language; 2-The application for smartphone in all important operating systems (IOS, Android and Windows Mobile 10) which will grant the access to everyone, everywhere at any time, in a multilanguage platform; 3-edition and publication of a Guide of Good Practices in English. All partners consider that the impact of this project in the future will be enormous, due to several factors, such as the constructed online platform, available for everyone to search and share content, the distinct mobile applications on the several OS (Android, IOS and WM10) available in all partner languages and a book of good practices published by an important international publisher (Wolters Kluwer) in English language, which PDF can be downloaded from the platform. In this context the long term benefits are evident: the students (future teachers) from the HEI, the associations that work with SE, the educational HEI, the general schools, the parents,…, will have free access to all of these materials.
