Project Summary

Nowadays technology is everywhere. Teenagers stare down at their mobiles or keep their eyes glued to a tablet or laptop, instead of observing the world around them. It’s not unusual to see two adolescents seated together on a bus, texting furiously on their mobiles rather than talking to one another. The fact that teens are so dependent on technology makes sense in our world, but it may also lead to negative consequences such as indifference to the real world, anti-socializing, aggression, and academic failure even resulting in early school leaving.

This dependency on technology and its negative effects gave us the idea of preparing a project which aims to deal with it. To justify the argument, first of all, we prepared an online survey and applied it to the students of each partner country.

Almost 500 pupils have joined our online survey the results have revealed the truth once more; most of our pupils are tech addicts and as teachers, we had to make something to deal with or at least to raise awareness about technology addiction.

So, as 6 schools we agreed on the objectives below :

1- Improving awareness within students, teachers, parents, communities of the signs and dangers of the technology addiction and of the problems it involves.
2-Providing tools and instruments for identifying technology addiction and inappropriate use to address this issue better.
3- Drafting the most appropriate strategies to support the use of digitalization without encouraging overuse, based on the exchange of good practices between the partner schools.
4- Improving the English language knowledge and raising the cultural awareness of both students and teachers participating in the project;
5- Promoting the European dimension in education.
6- Increasing the quality of education by reducing the technology dependency of young people, so struggling with early school leaving.
7- Teaching pupils Computer Literacy (the ability to use computers and related technology efficiently).

Our project is anticipated to employ about 100 to 120 students from each school who are also suffering from technology addiction at different rates. About 20 to 25 students and 10 teachers from each school will join the mobilities.

We will divide our topic into 5 categories:

Game Addiction
Social Network and Online Chat Addiction
