Project Summary
The Project “Technology and Methodology at the Service of Education and Citizenship” was created due to a range of common needs felt by the four schools involved, which Educational Project aims at the need to overcome some difficulties and indicates some organizational aspects to be improved. Each school has its own key-competences, which can result in a very positive strength, contributing to the correction of the aspects that need to be improved.
The general objectives of this Project are:
a) To overcome the difficulties identified: to increase the students’ motivation; combat the school dropout; create innovative pedagogical practices; provide the group of teachers with creative competences; give an answer to the educational challenges of the 21st century; promote the school’s internationalization.
The Project is developed in function of three vectors:
a) Creation of an innovative pedagogical tool: an “interactive robot”, which will revolutionize the class activities and the learning pedagogical techniques in classes;
b) Training of the teaching staff, through the sharing of good practices led by each school;
c) Creation of a support tool to the integration of people coming from migration flows, with an urgent need to be integrated in the schools of each region.
The group of participants is constituted by secondary students, from the four schools, between the ages of 16 and 19 years old, particularly the ones who possess fewer opportunities and several sorts of difficulties. The members of the direction of each school, the teachers and other non-teaching members of the school staff are also part of this group.
From 1st September 2017 to 31st August 2019, we will perform activities of preparation and concretization of the Project, mobilities, meetings, workshops, training, cultural visits, promotion and divulgation events, involving about 15.000 people directly or indirectly. After the conclusion of the project, we hope that its results affect 15 million people all over Europe.
This project has four mobilities, which involve about 72 students and 24 teachers/non-teaching members of the staff; there will be two project meetings, involving the mobility of 12 members of each school’s direction. These moments of sharing will be the most important for the participants and for the concretization of all objectives of the project.
During the students’ mobility, there will be activities concerning the development of the project, participation in classes, technical classes, cultural and technical visits, presentation of partial results, meetings, workshops, activities of sharing and exchange. The teachers will participate in workshops, classes, and technical visits. During the development of the project, the students will have a moment in their schedule which will allow them to participate voluntarily in the activities of the project. There will be a coordinating teacher of the project in each school, who will organize the activities and distribute tasks by the others.
We intend that this project achieves the following results:
a) the development of more appealing activities of education and formation, promoting the motivation of the educational community, in accordance with the needs and expectations of the students and teachers;
b) the promotion of activities based on the new information and education technologies;
c) the development of competences: technical, linguistic, cultural, of management and internationalization;
d) the support of the integration of refugees;
e) the promotion of the European spirit and mottos.
The effects of this Project will cause impact on several sectors.
a)The main beneficiaries of this Project, students and teachers, will acquire competences and an attitude which will be completely favoured by this experience. The whole school will feel the impact of the changes caused by the improvements of the pedagogical and class innovation; there will be great linguistic improvements and a better understanding of the difference and a bigger cultural tolerance.
b)The schools will benefit from a higher quality of education, will be more innovative and based on their needs; the transnational cooperation of the institutions, from public and private sectors, will be an example for other organizations, because this sharing promotes the educational sector, benefiting their main addressees: the students.
We intend to cause a strong impact on the Education Agencies; we want that our good practices are adopted by other schools.
We propose to do many activities of promotion of our project: workshops and an “International Multiplier Event”. We don’t want to keep it closed; we want it to reach the maximum number of people, because we believe that it will shape behaviours, lives and the future.
This Project, whose upgrades can be almost infinite, wants to reach all the schools that need to innovate their class practices and motivate students and teachers.
