Project Summary
Tales teach a person to express the feelings, name them and comprehend. The harmony of fairy tale, language develops the ability to perceive aesthetic values. The fairy tales, that also include the lullabies, come to the child’s world just after his/her birth. The child listens to the tales mostly during his first seven years. He gets to know more and more about the fairy-tale world when he starts to speak. The importance of a fairy tale has an big impact on a child’s comprehensive education, cognitive skills development, creativity, his/her own development, speech, future studies and much more.
The selection of tales at XXI century, when internet is full of information, bookstores are full of books, is extremely high. Every nation has its own folk tales, which is also the foundation for every pre-school institution, but there are a lot of authors’ works named tales as well that do not respond to the pre-school age needs, i.e. they are not the right tales about which children of this age should really hear.
This project would allow kindergarten teachers to search more about importance and differences of fairy tales, stories, would allow to select a valuable stories, suitable for 3-6 years old kids, and without finding them will foster to create the stories by themselves from inspired stories and share with kids. As well it is valuable opportunity to know other countries and their stories, culture, similarities and differences between.
It is vital that the child would have opportunity acquire knowledge through all 12 senses, during the project we will analyse them and will try to touch as much as possible using fairy tales, theatre, shadow play, voices, feelings, drawings and other activities. As well it is important to underline that the fairy tales are great, enjoyable, a wonderful opportunity to experience a variety of adventures and many impressions. Fairy tales are necessary for the human to develop properly and can also perform a therapeutic function.
The main aim of the project is to reveal the value of the senses to the further development of individuality and creativity in the search for expression through stories, fairy-tales, theater and to encourage preschool teachers to create, tell and integrate selected, up to date, fairy-tales and stories which foster correct kid’s individuality development process to everyday education.
The main target groups: 3 – 7 years old pre-schoolers and pre-school teachers. The other beneficiaries of the project: primary teachers, staff of the schools/kindergartens, parents and local communities, experts and practitioners of preschool education, trainers and local, national authorities. Project activities will be developed mainly by teachers of EU kindergartens which participate in the project but during the project families will be introduced with the activities, outcomes and will be invited to tell the story by themselves. Kids will feel the benefit and will grow with the various and meaningful fairy tales from their and other countries.
As the final tangible outcomes of this project we will make a booklet with incorporated all our tangible experience, as well prepare a calendar, created with drawings by kids and selected season fairy tales, dictionary for kids with drawings and main words, phrases to be able to start to know other culture. We are going to share the results during the meetings, seminars with parents, teachers, local communities, we will be visible online for everyone who wishes to get more knowledge and experience and to learn from us.
