Project Summary
The project followed past experiences such Comenius and Erasmus+, which made the team of partners school consolidated and ready to receive complex challenge like receive a new school of a different order. The activities started on the first week of October 2017, when the project coordinators met in our school in Paliano, to explain the project itself and to define clearly, methods, activities, events and timing. In cooperation, we defined procedures, and the development times of each initiatives. The friendship and esteem between coordinators and teachers, made the project realization easy and gave also the chance to add more initiative and enriched the work done. At the beginning of the activities organization there was only one doubt about the complexity of the primary schools family to host high schools students during the mobility in program. All those successfully overcome after a selection of the high school students and of the hosting families. One of the purpose of the project was to give the chance to the older students, to be tutor for the younger ones. Another difficulty overcome, was to find common useful days, for specific events, such as Europe Day or Erasmus Day, the different school calendars of the various countries, sometimes saw schools closed in those days, but by virtue of the great mutual respect for the work of others, each coordinator and teacher has found alternative strategies to carry out in what is expected. As highlighted, everything indicated in the project has been implemented , both initiatives and activities have been added to this, which from time to time, during the meeting, have been proposed and considered valid and functional to the aims of the project. Despite ourselves, due to force majeure (COVID 19) the only unfulfilled commitments were the last two mobilities, the one in March 2020 in Poland and the final one in May / June in Italy; although it was not possible to meet in presence, the activities and products envisaged in the project were carried out remotely. The calendar of the mobility activities carried out is the following shown:
April 2018, from 8 to 14 mobility in Spain, at Azuqueca de Henares-Guadalajara. The host school offered a program full of activities, thematic workshops were organized in which students from all schools participated in rotation in mixed groups. Mobility was enriched with visits to the territory: the Prado museum, Madrid, the Cathedral, the Royal Palace, the city of Alcalà. The host school organized a public presentation, at the Municipal House, in the presence of the local institutions. In Krakow, the coordinators’ meeting took place in October 2018 from 15 to 19. A synergistic relationship was established between the coordinators, the remaining mobilities and activities, online meetings, digital products and the project, were planned. From 20 to 25 of May 2019 mobility in France. The students were hosted by French families. There were many activities organized by the two school principals and the staff of teachers. The fourth international mobility took place in Zagreb from 14 to 19 October 2019. The students, guests of the families, experienced the daily dimension of Croatian students, confronting themselves with lifestyles and thinking different from their own. The program prepared by the Croatian coordinator together with the project team was full of activities. Also on this occasion, following the proposed activities, it was possible to promote and show the project activities to the territory, involving parents, associations and institutions. After the meeting in Croatia, work began to organize the last two mobilities, which however it was not possible to carry out due to force majeure COVID-19, in fact we agreed with all the coordinators that the three-month extension granted to us did not create safe conditions to organize what is necessary in compliance with the new rules (social distancing, mobility between nations, health certifications, etc and there were many uncertainties about the future). The positive experience led us to continue our collaboration.
