Project Summary
“The ERASMUS Code: a collaborative, stimulating and ambitiousinvestigation to learn Europe differently” was a project with two main objectives:
The first was to fight against dropping out of school at a time when students are less and less involved in their school education by making students part of a common project, and discovering a new pedagogy, a new way of discovering and accessing knowledge.
The second was to make them discover Europe and its cultural and heritage wealth, thus promoting openness to others, cultural and social openness and the construction of a European identity in a Europe which suffers from nationalist surges.
Therefore, the pupils gathered around a motivating, fun, ambitious and transnational project thanks to which they were able to discover that it was possible to learn, to understand, to progress, to develop skills by studying in another way.
During the 3 mobilities that took place during this project (the last one in Greece was aborted because of COVID 19), students of all nationalities discovered each other and tried to collaborate in order, among other things, to solve puzzles, to discover each other’s mother tongues, to understand each other through sports, exercises, quizzes, escape games, etc. which led them to discover the different facets and places of 3 European countries in particular.
The final production is a novel containing pictures, made up of several chapters (an introduction and 4 chapters), each written by the pupils of a partner country of the exchange, and which goes back on what have been done during each mobility.
This project highlighted the exchange and cooperation between students of different nationalities inside the European Union and enabled the development of in-depth and lasting written and oral skills and, we believe, an improvement of the academic appetite of the majority of students who participated in this project.
In order for these actions to have a extended and lasting impact, the project was visible throughout its duration by the local press, by the social and cultural partners of each of the partner city involved in the project and by the primary schools in the area with the aim of restoring the involvement of students in a modern, motivating and enriching school.
