Project Summary

Four schools situated in very different parts of Europe were applying in the year 2018 for a new KA2 Erasmus Project Strategic Partnership for Innovations and Good Practice. We intended to realize this project in the years 2018-2020. The Polish School ( Szkoła Podstawowa nr 1 w Jastrzębiu-Zdroju was a coordinating the project. In the group there were also the schools from Italy ( Instituto Comprensivo Foligno 3G Galilei Eraclio), Greece ( Prinos Trikala Highschool) and Bulgaria ( Tret o Osnovno Uchiliste “Gotce Delchev”. Unfortunatelly, at the beginning of our project, the Greek school gave up their participation.
The project has been entitled ” Young travelers of Europe”was aimed for the various target groups. The first of them were the teachers from participating schools, the next one were the students between 12-15. The partnership was also addressed to the teachers of other local schools, institutions supporting the project or cooperating with the participating organisations,such as local travel agencies, local media. The last but not the least were the parents of the students.
The most important objectives of the partnership were:
-career development of teachers
-improving the quality of educational offer of the participating schools
-introducing into the curriculum of the participating organisations new, innovative methods of teaching and extracurricular forms of teaching.
-improving language and ICT skills of the teachers and students.
-exploring and sharing innovative approach of education of different, European parnters
-introducing into school curriculum the European dimension
-large use of ICT
-the promotion of participating schools in the local and regional environtment
-increasing the motivation of students
-intercultural education ( exploring new, European countries, lifestyles, their culture and history)
The project covered manifold activities aiming to reach the objectives. Thus it had a cross-sectional character and it referred many, different school subjets, such as: Geography, Mathematics, native languages, foreign languages, History, ICT, Physical Education and Art. All the project focused on innovation and promotion of extracurricular forms of education. We intended to use largely various effective and modern computer programmes and apps. Apart from didactic activities, the project included a wide range of actions focused on the development of social and intercultural skills both of teachers and students. One of the greatest intentions was nurturing and improving the attitudes of entrepreneurship and resourcefulness of the students. A great number of activities included in the project aimed to develop the creativity and personal initiative.
The realization of the project brought a lot of sustainable advantages to the participating schools. The teachers found new, innovative forms of teaching and they applied them in their educational work. The staff and the students improved their language and ICT skills. The motivation of the students has increased , the lessons became more interesting for the students, education became no longer a boring duty and became a fascinating adventure. New elements and contents were introduced into the school curriculum. The students have gained new social skills such as entrepreneurship, openess and tolerance.
