Project Summary

The Erasmus + KA229 project “School Cooperation” is implemented by the Private Primary School No. 108 from Warsaw and by the Colegiul National “Gheorghe Lazar” school from Romania. Both institutions are looking for new solutions in working with children and young people at risk of e-addiction and exclusion. Based on the in-depth analysis of the needs of partner schools, the main goal of the project was determined. It is the restoration of proper dialogue and social relations of children and youth aged 7-15 in partner schools in the school and non-school environment. The most important specific objectives include greater socialization of children and adolescents, improved self-esteem and self-control of students, prevention of exclusion of children and adolescents, and the development of creative thinking and creativity among children and adolescents. An important specific goal will also be to establish wider cooperation between subject teachers, psychologists and school educators. The project is particularly addressed to students, teachers (educators, psychologists) and parents of partner schools as well as to friendly schools and theaters. Students with special educational needs will also be included in the project activities, thus schools will have the chance to become more inclusive.
The project will use the theatralization method as an innovative pedagogical method counteracting e-addiction and exclusion of students. The proposed method will be a form of education through art, which is to prepare students to better understand themselves and other people, deal with everyday problems (also emotional) and build deeper social bonds at school and outside of school. In its essence, the project will perform the function of education, upbringing, therapy and prevention. As part of the project, a number of activities will be undertaken that have been organized around two key areas: thematic workshops for participants of international exchanges – workshops of acting techniques, make-up workshops, puppet workshops, pantomime workshops, cinematographic and editing workshops, and theater performances, thanks to which students will they were able to communicate and build deeper social relations in the glass and non-school environment. Each of the key areas contains a description of the specific activities leading to the achievement of the project’s objectives.
During the implementation of the project, a number of interesting results (tangible and intangible) will be created. The cognitive and psychosocial competences of partner school students will increase significantly. In addition, thanks to the project and the results achieved, children and young people will find it easier to integrate knowledge from various areas and subjects, will be more aware of using the Internet and modern technologies, and better manage their lives and learning. Teachers will get new materials to work with students (lesson plans with innovative working methods, the guide ‘Theater education in primary school), which will contribute to improving the quality of education in schools. Elements of theatralization as an innovative pedagogical method counteracting e-addictions and exclusion of students will be introduced in parenting classes in partner schools. In the long term, there will be a qualitative increase of schools in the pedagogical dimension (deepening knowledge, developing new skills, innovative way of conducting lessons) as well as social (promoting new values and attitudes). Most of the results generated will be used after the end of the project co-financing period.
Promotional and disseminating activities of the project results will be directed to pupils, teachers and parents of partner schools (intra-school activities) who did not directly participate in mobility and project activities. At the local level (outside the school), activities will be directed to friendly schools and theaters where theater plays will be staged. When deciding on the selection of a specific dissemination tool / channel, we will choose the appropriate method of communication to the preferred group of recipients. Therefore, while disseminating the results, various channels and tools will be used: direct contacts, performances, websites and social media, radio and local press, interviews and articles. The material results generated will be made available on open educational resources so that the largest possible number of recipients can use them.
