The GENERAL OBJECTIVE
Promoting equity and inclusion by raising awareness of acceptance and tolerance of the social, linguistic and cultural diversity.
The SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
1.Practicing new educational approaches aiming to support better personal and professional development strategies of the hearing impairment students.
2.Increasing awareness of the importance of the active citizenship of the hearing students by developing their intercultural knowledge, their feelings of tolerance and acceptance of human diversity,of non-discrimination and non-segregation.
3.Acquiring foreign languages skills(English and sign language)in order to breakdown the communication barriers and make the most of social and professional inclusion opportunities worldwide, for the target groups(hearing and hearing impairment students).
The target groups:
-Romania: 30 deaf students aged 10-19 (1st flow :8 deaf students aged 15–19; 2nd flow: 8 deaf students aged 12–14; 30 deaf students aged 10–19 (including the 16 ones from the mobilities) as direct local participants)
-Croatia:30 students aged 15-17(8 students for each of the two flows and 30 students(including the 16 ones from the mobilities)as direct local participants)
-Turkey:30 students aged 11-17(1st flow:8 students aged 13–17;2nd flow:8 students aged 11–17;30 students aged 11–17(including the 16 ones from the mobilities)as direct local participants).
The activities in this project are designed to lead to the achievement of proposed objectives. In order to do so, we planned combined activities: the physical students exchanges (mobilities) with the virtual activities who will take place on the eTwinning platform before, during and after the mobility events. To ensure a quality management to the project, all 3 schools in collaboration, realised a program activities: 2 transnational project meetings; selections of the participants, before each mobility; preparation activities of the mobilities; mobilities; eTwinning activities; dissemination events. Throughout the LLT activities (icebreaking activities, sports competitions, foreign languages, sig language workshops, art (dance, drama play, role playing games), craft (creation of a banner and of a wall of tolerance), public debate (on human rights), research on the inclusion topic etc.) and the eTwinning activities, the participants will develop their empathy, their capacity of tolerance and acceptance of the human diversity, their attitudes towards peers with disabilities and increase their social and language skills.
The project has been designed as a strategic partnership and therefore it aims at bringing together partners with various competencies, backgrounds and tasks, but the same institutional needs. The schools were selected to cover different population of pupils,to represent diversity in ability, cultural and social field.
The impact on the participating schools will be measured in: the openness to implementing new forms of non-formal education beneficial to students with disadvantaged background; practicing new educational approaches; enrichement for the teachers of their pedagogical knowledge through the exchange of good practice during short-term exchanges and presentations of the good practices; strengthened cooperation within the network of institutions involved into the work in the frame of transnational projects; consolidation of a more positive approach to European projects and EU; developing the European and international dimensions of the schools.
We consider that the E+ framework is compatible and supports our efforts of changing mentalities by proposing new and innovative approches of the young people who are facing discrimination, segregation and inacceptance. Our overall goal is the social and professional inclusion of the deaf young people in order for them to become adults who are viable and independent members of the society,as well as for the hearing young people to embrace diversity and raise their degree of tolerance face to the different
