Project Summary

In order to contribute to the solution of climate change and global warming problems which threaten the World, We are organizing the project “THINK TWICE BEFORE DROPPING YOUR GARBAGE” under the coordinatorship of Turkey in cooperation with Poland, The Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and Italy . We aim to raise awareness in various people in partner countries by giving them recycling training. We aim to increase the quantity of separated waste and recycled waste, to decrease the effects of global warming and climate change, to start a social entrepreneurship movement, to help socio-culturally and economically disadvantaged people to find jobs and be entrepreneurs by the help of training courses teaching how to make decorative items out of waste materials. The objectives of this project are : to train families about recycling, to change their past habits, to show them that we can save water and energy by separating and recycling waste, to protect the nature. The other objectives are to involve people from different parts of the society, to make them work together about a common problem threatening the World, to give them awareness of social entrepreneurship by cooperating for society’s problems. In this way, we aim to decrease the prejudices and discriminations. In this project, people from different parts of the society will spend more time, know each other’s cultures and traditions and people under the threat of marginalisation will involve in society much more. People who have less opportunities in terms of economic power and socio-culturally and people who live in rural areas will participate in recycled decorative item training courses, so they will both improve their creativity and they will have more jobs. Training course for entrepreneurship will be provided to the ones who had decoration courses, they will be supported to be entrepreneurs and this will support to help unemployment problem. Some trainings will be provided to municipality environment and cleaning workers so the wprking capacity of municipalities will increase. The municipalities project countries will cooperate and they will make common working strategy and plan. 100 families, 60 volunteers and 25 unemployed adults from 10 neighbourhoods in Başakşehir,Turkey, 40 families, 30 volunteers and 30 immigrants in Belgium, 25 families, 15 volunteers and 40 adults from rural areas in the Netherlands, 50 families, 25 volunteers and 30 adults from rural areas in Italy, 40 families, 15 volunteers and 30 immigrants in Poland, 50 families, 30 volunteers and 30 immigrants in in Spain will participate in the project. 3 meetings will be organized with the administrative Staff of the partner countries at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the project. In these meetings, the issues of project management will be elaborated. 6 training events for trainers will be organized. 3 of them will be face to face and about recycling, social inclusion and entrepreneurship. 3 of them will be online meetings which are about 3R (refuse,recycle,reuse), sustainable resources, waste managements, climate change and global threats. Besides these, 6 international meeting mobilities will be organized in order to see the good practices and project works in place. In these mobilities, there will be meetings in which the partner municipalities and institutions will have cooperation to increase their capacity. In these meetings, municipalities will create a common strategy and work plan about recycling. The methodologies to be used in project implementation are the agreements between the coordinator and the partners about planning and time management, determining the steps to be followed up in the project, management of the possible problems and risks during the project implementation, decisions about budget management.

The tasks about intellectual outcomes and social media channels of the project will be delivered. Decisions will be taken about the methods to be used in evaluation, dissemination and sustainability of the project activities and implementation. People will change their life habits thanks to the project outcomes, they will separate their waste, the quantity of recycling will increase, water and energy will be saved, natural resources will be protected. Discrimination between the people under the threat of marginalisation and the people from other parts of the societs will be destroyed. People who attend decoration courses will have job and be entrepreneurs. The impacts are to get good recycling practices in partner countries, to increase the quality of recycling by international work, to improve our recycling work and practices, to Exchange ideas and have cooperation with NGOs who are active in recycling. The project will be published in social media networks, websites, EPALE platform. In this way, it will be a guide for people who want to make a project about recycling and recycling work will be disseminated through various countries.
