Project Summary

We are five colleagues working in different countries : Bulgaria, Romania, Spain, Portugal and France. We met on the eTwinning platform. What brought us closer is our common desire to work together in order to mutualize and improve our practices with students who are sometimes demotivated. So we did a survey in our institutions to diagnose our needs. When analyzing this study we found that our pupils had some common points: difficulties concerning the mastery of their mother tongue and foreign languages, low involvement in group work and a tendency to withdraw from individual activities, demobilization of some for their schooling, the use of digital tools for purposes exclusively reserved to games and social networks, a lack of knowledge of the social role of Europe, its member countries and the networks set up in countries to help people.
Given these findings, we wanted to carry out a project that would enable our students to strengthen their mastery of their mother tongue and foreign languages but also oblige them to work collectively, for others, to to make them become aware of the value of sharing. In order not to to hold up the French pupils, who are more in difficulty in terms of foreign language proficiency and since the other pupils were all learning French, we decided to carry out this project in this language.
This is how it was planned: over a period of two years we will have to make our students work around the discovery of the solidarity projects carried out at the local level and the associations or organizations implementing these actions. During the mobilities organized in each country, our mission will also consist in carrying out
together solidarity actions in favour of various audiences or in favour of the respect for the environment. Our goal is to educate students and make them want to do this again once the project is complete. We will also work on the creation of information media (posters, articles and videos), but also on material creations (creation of a game and a mini novel photos), which can be re-used after the end of the project.in order to give a concrete objective to our students we decided to end the project with the edition of a book retracing all our activities,We want to publish this book in each of the partners’ languages so that it is more easily transferable at the local level.
Our actions will also have to be relayed in our schools by our students through articles,For external communication we have chosen to communicate through the eTwinning platform and through a Facebook page dedicated to our project. Partnerships at the local level will enable us to disseminate the results of our actions. This project, carried out over two years, will enable us to mobilize 115 students. In this way, students aged between 14 and 19 will be able to take part in a project that will make sense and will make them want to get more involved in their learning.
More students will benefit from the project in the partners’ receptions, the idea being to create local dynamics that can be sustained after the project. We will also involve the staff and teachers of our institutions, local companies and public structures, solidarity associations, which will help us to set up our actions, local media, volunteers already working with associations. In addition, three teachers’ mobilities have been integrated into this project to help with its pedagogical monitoring and the finalisation of the book at the end of the project. They will also be an opportunity for the exchange of good practices and will create real links between the partners who will tint our project of friendship, fraternity and real solidarity.
For this project we have put in place a provisional schedule of the tasks and meetings to be carried out. We have identified referrals in different areas according to our specialities in order to allocate tasks and we have created tools that will allow us to assess the results of our project.
This project, based on sharing, will have a real benefit for all:on pupils by involving them more concretely in their learning,on teachers by enabling them to mutualize their practices,on schools, families and the local fabric by creating social dynamics that will generate the desire to do together and value everyone’s worka
