Project Summary
The present project proposal “Folk “, which was born thanks to the collaboration of the Institute of Higher Education – Cariati, in partnership with the Etimesgut Faruk Nafiz Çamlıbel Anatolian High School of Ankara (Turkey), Agrupamento de Escolas D. Sancho I(Portugal),II Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace im. Adama Asnyka(Poland) provides 4 exchanges of 5 day (+2 travel) for12 students from each partner school aged between 15 and 17 years (classes II and III).
The mobility activities aim to establish a synergy and a collaboration between young people with different ones cultural and linguistic backgrounds, to achieve the creation of a blog that tells history, traditions, folklore and food and wine of the places of belonging of all the groups participating in the exchange. In this space, the students will be able to tell and describe the excellence of their places of origin also promoting the tourism promotion of its territory. This type of activity aims to break down the cultural barriers born of stereotypes and misunderstandings, stimulating learners to open up and to understanding respect for others and the wealth that is hidden in diversity.
The blog will be entirely designed by the students, not only from a content point of view, but also for what concerns the graphic (font, colors, logo, etc.). It will be written in English, but translations into the languages of all participating countries will also be prepared. The main objectives of the proposal are:
– encourage the exchange of good practices between schools operating in different countries;
-promote cultural difference as a source of creativity and wealth, encouraging students to
dialogue and intercultural respect;
– strengthen the language skills of students and teachers;
– strengthen transversal skills (problem solving, team working, effective communication), in
especially the development of critical thinking;
– acquire further knowledge in the digital and editorial field;
– each school will be able to acquire new skills in the management of Erasmus + projects.
The staff involved in the project will ensure that during the 24 months, the activities develop in a way fluid, facing any critical issues and problems. Monitoring tools are provided such as questionnaires and forms relating to student performance, as a means of preparing reports and understand the progress of the proposal until the end of the activities, when the staff will present the “Folking” results. These will be processed, not only based on reports, but also on the stock of the reference indicators established by the experts. These include:
– increase in certifications in English (at least 40% of participants);
– increase in IT certifications (at least 20% of participants);
– improvement in school performance;
– increase in the network of contacts of schools;
– improvement of the teachers’ performance following the acquisition of innovative methodological-learning know-how;
increased participation of schools involved in new Erasmus + projects.
The project foresees a diffusion plan addressed both within the partnership, in order to involve students, families and teachers, but also a dissemination aimed at promoting the project in an audience
wider. This will happen, thanks to the press, radio and TV, to the distribution of brochures, to the creation of a facebook page and to specific sections on the websites of the various schools, but above all thanks to the blog which will represent not only a window on the project but also on the territories involved.
