Project Summary

We are all working with students, who will start their journey in life soon in the term of further education, traveling or work and this is our chance to help them to a good start. We have been very focused on seeking partners who share our passion for the enhancement of student’s linguistics competences. We are collaborating with schools, who try to make a different every single day. Management who have faith in the teachers and teachers, who are flexible and willing to put in an extra effort to reach our common goal. Every single partner in this project is fully aware that we as teacher are responsible for our own continuous training, regularity of seminars and courses. Italy has a wide range of extracurricular activities projects with other schools; and opportunity to obtain language certifications. Most of the students attending this secondary school do not come from wealthy families and financial barriers do not always give them the possibility to broaden their horizons. Our Italian partner has worked with cultural heritage and different European partners before and share the belief that collaboration and communication is the right path to a united Europe.
Portugal is the most experienced partner in this collaboration, willing to share their knowledge on best practice and overall be of assistance in any aspect needed. They are the biggest school and have had many students participate in different European projects. Belgium is new to working with European projects and we are very happy to work with them.
IES Antonio Gala in Spain is also a very large secondary school, which is the image of why cultural heritage is extremely important. Belgium is also new to Erasmus+ projects. The educational community and level of ambition from the parents in this school is quite similar to that of the Danish school. Spain works with critical thinking and different strategies in language learning towards our common goal to encourage linguistic diversity, supporting the goals of the European commission.
Our Latvian partners also represent a large school with many students, like Portugal and Spain. This is also an experienced partner, who has engaged in other projects. Latvia has gone through many struggles throughout history and cultural heritage is important for Smiltene School. We as coordinating country share the conviction that our six countries is a strong professionally qualified union of mixed cultural and linguistic heritage and expertise. There is no doubt that this union is diverse and if we can come together and unite teachers and students in an attempt to facilitate intercultural understanding, then we have reached the goal of the project and hopefully helped our youth to a better understanding of themselves and their European peers. We share a common goal to create respect among different cultural identities and to keep stressing the significance in language learning and attainment of communicative competence.
In this project we will work with different student activities(specified in the section of “Learning Teaching Training”) which will enhance student awareness and make students capable of understanding that cultural heritage, level of linguistic competences and social competences are well connected in a united Europe. The methodology will be to work with the different aspects of the objectives separately. Working with linguistic knowledge, intercultural challenges and awareness, word association, Brexit and English in the EU, our own cultural heritage (based on The National Anthem of each partner). Overall, what is needed from Europeans in our strive for togetherness across culture and language in a united Europe.
