Project Summary

The project aims at promoting European values such as equality, tolerance and social inclusion among pupils aged 9 to 15 y.o. and to stimulate their intercultural, social and artistic behavior through thematic activities. A number of 108 pupils will be directly involved in 3 short term exchanges of 5 days of learning, in which they will experience non-formal activities related to artistic expression, recycling and manufacturing in order to increase their independent life abilities, creativity and openness towards other cultures. The 6 accompanying teachers will benefit from the project too as they will increase capacity to better integrate in own school non-formal learning activities to support pupils in their educational path, with the final goal to increase their performance, to strengthen a feeling of „citizens of Europe” and to reduce the risk of early school leaving. As a result of the implementation of this project, the 3 school partners will increase capacity to better implement E+ projects and to cooperate at international level.
The project „Unity in Diversity – EU values hold us together” is implemented by a consortium of 3 schools from Romania, Italy and Turkey. Each partner school will host 1 mobility. Activities organized during the 3 short term exchanges of groups of pupils will combine theory with practice and with reflection sessions for a better internalization of the learning process. Activities will include: presentations, discussions and brainstorming sessions about European Union and European shared values like solidarity, tolerance, non-discrimination, human rights and social inclusion; carnival, puppet show, egg/ceramic pots painting and pottery workshops, intercultural moments and study visits. Each school partner will realize an Annual Plan for designing and integrating non-formal activities in own school. After the finalization of the short term exchanges, the pupils accompanied by teachers will organize one large dissemination event in the community and two thematic workshops inside their school.
The project will benefit of a large number of stakeholders and associated partners to disseminate the results achieved.
