Project Summary
Under one roof –Let’s live together. The background of this project is the common experience of all four partners with an increasing number of refugees/migrants/minorities at each partner’s school. Starting with those experiences we supported an exchange of ideas so that our refugees could benefit from this. It is impossible to solve those problems on its own. In addition to that we made an effort to raise the consciousness for living together in peace, for thinking together, for cooperating with teachers and pupils from different countries. This subject contained two aspects: At the one hand pupils learned about the typical structure of their own houses, houses in the home countries of refugees/migrants/minorities and also houses of the partners‘ countries. On the other hand we will reflected this architectural point of view both to our society and to EU. For building a house you have to follow some basic rules. In our context, common values help us to live together in peace in our globalized world. Supporting the inclusion of refugees was one common aim of the involved schools from Treuchtlingen/Germany, Bonyhad/Hungary, Aksaray/Turkey and Ponsacco/Italy. Besides this they have some more similarities: At each school e-learning with new digital media is a basic of the daily work. Also new, open learning methods which support a high activity of the students are very important for them. Furthermore networking with partners from Europe is another common aim. In this project the partners combined all those experiences and methods to an approach that is competence orientated. Refugees were regarded as an enrichment and as experts for their home country. For reaching these aim we organized some main activities: First year: Students took pictures/movies of famous buildings in their hometown. The best pictures/movies from ech partner were combined for the partners. Students collect information about their home countries. At a common afternoon with fomilies of refugees/minorities and local families information about architecture in all participating countries were compiled. They were used in a learning workshop with the title „Architecture – Show your home country to me“. Here the students did researches more about the partner’s buildings. Partner towns and their typical buildings were searched on google earth application. By this way students were aware of both difference and similar features of towns and buildings in other countries. Students prepared presentations about these simlarities and differences and presented this and all activities at the Erasmus wall. Students wrote stories about the historical meaning and use of typical houses or buildings in their hometown. The best stories were chosen and translated for the partners. A powerpoint presentation with the visuals was prepared about those stories. An expert about architecture informed about the general structure of typical houses in the hometowns. All results were shared with students and parents (project-day). Second year: Not properly done model houses were built to understand that they collapse beause of bad construction. By this way sudents made comparision with a bad constructed building and a not well organized, integrated, harmonized society. Students chose the rules for living together. Various activities were done such as visiting the refugee/minotity families, inviting them to the classes. Students wrote and played scetches about the rules in society and living together (without words). Experts were invited to the school to inform at a parents meeting about intercultural communication. In each partner school students were asked to collect used clothes or other needed things to give to the refugees/minorities/imigrants in need. A running competition or similar activities were orginized to collect money for the people in need. A values wall was arranged at each partner school. At a final project day we informed about all the activities. Several results can be used even after the end of the project. First the arranged learning workshop about „Architecture – Show your home country to me“, in addition many digital presentations about architecture and specifics in the partners‘ countries. All those results will be given to interested schools. So we expect a longer-term effect to other schools and to our society in general.
