Project Summary

1 CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND
Gender inequality has always been a prevalent problem within our world. It has created an imbalance of power between men and women, thus causing problems within our daily lives. The solution to this problem starts with our youth. “WALKING TOWARD AN EGALITARIAN EUROPE” is a school project that will provide insight of women in different periods and spaces. This topic is essential for the cultural, civil and also economic development of our world. Implementing European learning programs aimed at learning: respect, the value of social cohesion, diversity and inclusion, in particular gender; we can teach our young people that this world needs both men and women and that girls are able to Access to Jobs which have traditionally been held by and thought for men (engineering, doctors, pólice, firefighters, army).
2 OBJECTIVES:

B) TO PREVENT SCHOOL FAILURE AND EARLY SCHOOL LEAVING
C) TO PROMOTE WOMEN’S SOCIAL INCLUSION
D) TO PROMOTE INNOVATION OF METHODOLOGIES
E) FEELING EUROPEANS
F) THIS PROJECT AND OUR ETWINNING PROJECT “TOWARDS AN EGALITARIAN EUROPE” (ID 218370) WALK TOGETHER HAND IN HAND FOR 2 YEARS.
3 NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS:
1660 students from 12 to 18 years old and 30 teachers.
4 METHODOLOGY
Flipped classroom, narrative transmedia, promote active learning and inclusive education (tutoring, mentoring, peer work, group work, cooperative learning), and take advantage of the opportunities offered by ICT and digital languages in order to personalize learning paths, expand sources of knowledge, share and communicate.
5 ACTIVITIES:
The activities of the project will be included as a part of the school curriculum, so that the whole educational community will work and implement them.
Using the methodology already shown to achieve the objectives set out above, the following activities will be carried out:
OBJ.A:
Search for the stereotypes that are hidden behind some choices of method and content.
Teacher training courses and workshops on orientation, inclusive teaching and emotional intelligence for the professional community
Orientation activities for students
Meeting with parents to disseminate the results .
A questionnaire about statistics on violence against women.
Activities to research and analyze stereotypes and inequality in textbooks, TEEN magazines, exams, school documents and ads.
STEAM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Art/Maths) activities for boys and girls.
OBJ. B:
Analysis of data relating to educational levels, delays and dropouts of students of each schools to build graphs.
Implementation of interdisciplinary teaching-learning paths (CLIL, theatre, choir, monthly equality assemblies)
Meetings on emotional intelligence development.
OBJ. C
Identification and study of female figures important for local or national history. Enhancement of female figures underestimated by History. The European Women’s Memoirs.
Search for concrete examples on inequality in different careers within economic fields, housework and care.
Study and analyze The Declaration on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (abbreviated as DEDAW) which is a human rights proclamation issued by the United Nations General Assembly.

Systematic use of ICT: Development of Digital Competence
Active methodology (cooperative learning, flipped classroom)
Workshops and interdisciplinary activities (theatre, music concerts, talks and debate) in collaboration with local authorities and other educational agencies in the area
Use of the English language during all the steps of the project.
6 RESULTS/ DISSEMINATION
Promote equal opportunities and treatment through practice: active learning in small groups
Consolidate the key competence “Multilingual Competence”
Develop key competences for lifelong learning.
Develop shared evaluation criteria and methodologies.
Created Products: Open didactic material published on the net;An ebook with the title of the project (Path taken, data, testimonies,historical sources, activities,methodology,evaluation);The European Women’s Memoirs; An iclusive language digital guide.
The results of the project can be used by different teachers if the material applies to their subject. More importantly, every year on the international days worked on throughout the project our, schools can use the material produced or update it which may bring new, interesting conclusions.
The change in mentality among our students in terms of gender relationships. Together with their families who have shared the experience, they will be the most effective means of disseminating the values of respect and gender equality

Give information about the project to the local press.
Spreading the project LOGO by badges, T-shirt.
A meeting with management team of partners´local schools to present them the Project so that they know it and feel confident to apply for one KA229.
