Project Summary
Clean water, which is 6th of the UN 17 targets,is an indispensable need for human beings and all other living things. Clean water resources are gradually decreasing. Approximately 1.8 billion people drink unclean water everyday. Water shortage directly affects health, ecosystem and biodiversity.
Our dıstrict is very rich in natural spring waters. There are 6 natural spring water factories in our district. Because the water is abundant and cheap, the people unconsciously use it as if it never ends. However, water scarcity is the biggest problem of world in the future.Article 56 of the Constitution:“Everyone has the right to live in a healthy and balanced environment. It is the duty of the state and citizens to improve the environment, protect environmental health and prevent environmental pollution.”contains provisions. Climate change, water pollution and water scarcity have been discussed violently in the KYOTO protocol and PARIS CLIMATE CONFERENCE which we participated in 2009. 2020 EUROPEAN GROWTH STRATEGY attaches great importance to efficient use of resources. The new EUROPEAN water policy is designed to realize the activities of re-cleaning and saving water. TURKEY,according to the WWF, are among the countries that will experience water shortage before 2030. Therefore, our project is an important topic in the local and international arena. In our survey at %67 of the students are unconscious about water. As teachers,we could not remain unresponsive in this situation and we decided to imply the first ERASMUS project of our school. We set out with the partners who have similar and water problems. By participating to this project, our teachers’ professional skills will increase. The perspective and visions of the teachers and students especially socioeconomically disadvantaged towards the world will change thanks to the interaction with other cultures. Our partners are from TURKEY(2),MALTA,POLAND,PORTUGAL,ROMANIA.More experienced partners will guide participants coming from MALTA AND TURKEY as their first time. The age of our students are 14-18. The target people of the project is all teachers, students, parents, local people.
