Project Summary

The main objective of this ERAMUS+ project lay in the transfer of key skills that resulted in the development and implementation of innovative educational practices through the valorization of the natural environment, using the power of Surf as the backbone The use of its practice to generate values of environmental sustainability and encourage intercultural learning, sharing an innovative approach and improving the educational methodology, was consistent with the specific characteristics of the municipalities involved.
All of them were linked through this proposal and had in common to be considered “Surf destinations” in Europe.
Its economy is linked to this activity and its indirect effects. Likewise, their local corporations participate actively and, on a regular basis, in projects and associations linked to this content, which accredited experience at an organizational level.
The execution of this project would promote cooperation, learning among equals and the exchange of experiences on a European scale, generating, through the development of the planned activities, synergies and links that will allow the opening of new training horizons and the modernization, renewal and progressive internationalization of the Centers that participated.
The students of the four primary schools that made up this project, from three different countries of the European Union, were going to experience a new educational approach through nature and sport. Values such as teamwork, cooperation, awareness, and tolerance were to be promoted.

Surfing was going to be used, and everything that surrounds it, as a learning tool, creativity, motor skills, respect and imagination were going to be enhanced This methodology, and the use of a very widespread sports activity in our areas, they would encourage our young people to face and be able to recognize the problems surrounding the four schools, in a practical and relaxed way.
Educational experiences were going to be lived that would benefit the students and teachers of the four educational centers, which would suppose a lasting and transferable learning, where the students would participate in the decisions and in the evaluation of the results. The students were going to broaden their vital horizons, while for the teaching staff it would be an experience that would serve to contribute to their professional growth.
This was going to achieve an improvement in the quality of the educational service, and of all those procedures and methodologies. The results obtained should be shared with other educational centers in each area, in addition to the Regional Administration.
Likewise, this project was going to take learning and teaching beyond the closed environment of the school, which would allow us to create a link with local associations and companies, favoring the permanence of learning.
On the other hand, contact with other cultures, customs, gastronomy, languages, etc. It would provide young people with a cultural richness, they should learn to manage this diversity and promote intercultural dialogue, guaranteeing tolerance, cooperation, and social sensitivity.

In the medium-long term, it was expected that the relationships created between the educational centers would become closer and would become mutual collaboration in all areas, promoting the exchange of experiences and good practices, and consolidating the values and objectives to build a common future.
We know that sport and care for the natural environment contribute to individual physical and mental well-being. It stimulates the different capacities, while it strengthens and dynamizes the corporal, emotional and social intelligence, helping to cultivate human relationships. These values were going to be reflected, ultimately, in the local civil society through the chain of transmission that our young people are.
It is evident that the exchange was going to provide us with an improvement in the educational processes. The teaching staff would improve the performance of their duties. They would use the resources currently available plus everything that active and outdoor learning brings, without forgetting digital skills.
With this project we were going to design a better tomorrow in a more aware world. We had to bet on economies that serve people now and, in the future, that distribute prosperity and opportunities fairly, and that respect the environmental limits of our planet.
Each of the Centers involved will continue to work, once the project is finished, seeking a balance, and trying, through these new methodologies, to instill in students a responsible attitude towards their own learning and their environment.
