Project Summary

The idea of the project arises from the need to increase our students’ and community’s awareness to be EU- citizens. We can do that through the availability to comparison, to share problems and to develop common basic skills. The participation to a KA2 helps us to broaden our cultural, social horizons, as the encounter and dialogue among cultures acquire an interesting connotation and they contribute to a personal and social growth of all participants.
Our partnership, formed by six different countries (Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Spain,) shares the main objectives: to widen their cultural prospective and to motivate their students through the use of a universal language, that’s to say SPORT.
The topic “T.E.A.M sports” is the way through which we help our pupils to grow up as active members of a challenging European healthy and respectful community. They play in transnational teams, so that they actively understand that their individual action and support are necessary to reach common objectives and goals. That is a representation of what it means to be a good citizen: we are all part of a “social TEAM”, where our respectful action and behavior are convenient to live in a good and sane community and, in a wider context, we become good European citizens.
Sports rules are a playful way of getting used to rules: in society, in family, at school, and in the interpersonal relationships. Rules are needed and must be taught to our students, as they are essential to be good sportsmen, good students, good friends and good citizens!
During the project’s implementation, while getting used to rules in a funny context and educating them, they will, at the same time, achieve meaningful learning, improve language skills, change lifestyle and respect nature, developing an open minded and healthy European community.
The project implementation foresees five different phases in order to focus on the different project’s objectives. The project phases are:
• A1. We are an only T.E.A.M.!
• A2. Together EU And Me!
• A3. T.E.A.M.S.: Together we Enjoy And Meet Successfully!
• A4. No PLANet B!
• A5. Healthy style, healthy life
The first two phases A1 “We are an only T.E.A.M.! and A2 Together EU And Me! are useful to introduce the project content and timetable and to let our students “know” other partners’ countries with all their peculiarities, history, tradition, territory, sport, lifestyle…
The phase A3 “T.E.A.M.S.: Together we Enjoy And Meet Successfully!” will give our students, during mobilities, the opportunity to play and enjoy together in transnational teams, to experience different lifestyles, cultures, traditions and to build relationships with other European classmates.
In friendly competition they will test their individual skills, but also COOPERATE with their teammates to reach the same goals.
In the first project’s school year we will focus on ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE through a variety of activities that belongs to the fourth phase A4 “No PLANet B!”.School, as education centre, can refrain from the urgency to activate a reflection on the fact that, if we completely destroy our planet, we won’t have a second chance. It is our duty to let our students reflect on the emergency to urgently find and adopt solutions to solve environmental problems. We plan a series of activities that promote the respect of the environment and that encourage our students to change their lifestyle and to be more sensitive towards environmental problems.
Throughout the second school year, we will let our students reflect on the importance of having healthy eating habits through the activities of the fifth phase A5.”HEALTHY STYLE, HEALTHY LIFE”, implementing an Action on FOOD EDUCATION in order to let them adopt a healthy lifestyle.
All the planned activities will lead to the achievement of the project objectives through a large variety of learning strategies and methodology: cooperative learning, workshops, virtual classroom, teamwork, writing laboratories, use of ICT, etc. in different way. As many learners as possible, even the students with special needs will be involved.
The main objectives of the project, that will be achieved during the different project’s phases are the following ones:
– experience and promote the real values of sport, applying them in several and different areas;
– enable someone to become part of a group, whose rules are shared and respected;
– Promote an active dialogue among cultures
– build an open minded community without prejudices and barriers
– develop relations of friendship and cross-border cooperation
– promote a healthy lifestyle through play and movement,
– promote the respect for nature
– develop awareness about environmental problems
– promote recycling
– promote good eating habits
– develop awareness about food issues
As result, we contribute to develop a healthy and respectful community that shares the same European values and formed by good citizens living in a healthier world
